Great to hear! you could always put the extra SRT engine in the n/a car.

I am liking the Idea of Rudy having his own branding and numbering starting with 001 as this is business for him. I also think it would be nice to have a similar numbering system so track all V8 Crossfire and maybe add a an R designation for the Rude Cars. I can tell you it took about two weeks to figure out the mechanical swap and then another two years to figure out how make the engine start. During that time I communicated with the two owners in Germany who very very helpful. I also got Rudy involved to bounce ideas off of when the electronics were still giving me fits. I was really hoping and glad that Rudy got involved because I believe if anyone can work out the last electronic issues, Rudy can. Rudy has been very involved in my car, so if his business takes off, I want to reserve the right to the 000/prototype ID and of course a signed plaque!

 

I'm not sure what all the codes mean. But wouldn't you want to include the modification build year so it can be traced back to when the mod was done?

 

With your conversion you are on your way Rudy!

I know Rudy is not Canadian, So I would guess the "A" Is for Accelerated

 

I've thought about it. I've decided I think it should be called a "Compart Crossfire"... just saying...

 

Add me to the list that thinks they should be numbered separately from anyone else's V8 conversions (even if someone else happened to do the exact same conversion).

I'm planning on this in another year or so if they're still being done, it gives me another reason to keep the SRT6 .

 

So what is the best candidate car?
SRT or NA - does it matter?
Auto or stick (guessing auto)

 

It all depends what you want to do. They're all about the same and each have their own challenges but yeah, gotta have an auto unless you want me to tear my hair out wiring in all the stuff you'd need that's missing.

 

Rudy, if we can figure out how to mate a Tremec T56 to the back of the E55 S/C V8, I'd love to have this swap in my car. That's the only manual trans I can think of that would handle the power. I'm just not sure how the size compares to the stock tranny.

Time to start saving!

Who's car is it Rudy? Stop this "its a seceret" crap! At least give us some hints. My 1st guess would be your car, 2nd guess would be boilerup because we all have seen him drive the dragon before and he needs all the help he can get .

You painted up Mistertaz's v8 all pretty to match his car. what color is this one getting done? Answers... Lets hear it. 1) It's going in a Crossfire.
2) It has tires on it.
3) Said tires will soon be disappearing faster than they used to.
4) It has tail lights.
5) Said tail lights will be about the only thing people see anymore.

I'm very curious and my hungry mind wants to know details!

I take it your plugging in an OEM system from another car, what car does the setup come out of? How much does the V8 with the SC put to the ground? What does it cost?

Why no build thread or did I just miss it completely? Probably the latter because I've been living in my own world of late but I looked again and didn't see it.

 

I will give you all the first clue to who's car it is.....ready......it isn't mine, because I am still trying to finish the blue coupe. I will hopefully pick Rudy's mind when he and Taz stop by as to a few minor touches. I have two LSD's coming and have to be installed this winter...so I am on track to spend another 4K...I would love a V-8 conversion, but would have to sell one of mine to justify it, and I love both my cars, so that won' happen. If fortune smiles upon me for some reason, then I will be on his list...but not for at least 2 yrs at this point...on with the next clue....
