Cool! SSB will again be the fastest!

 

 

Max, Can you confirm that the CLK55 rear end will bolt right in? I will soon be adding a supercharger and need to know my options if I start breaking things.

 

Prior to Paul's car, all V8 Crossfires (3) were SSB!

Yes, I'd like to know what year that drivetrain came out of because I've gone through everything in EPC and the only carrier housing that has even a remote chance of fitting in ours came from the 208 chassis but that shares it's guts with the C32 and from what I've been able to measure, those are too wide for our car but you know, I'd love to be proven wrong here.

Yeah that guy has to be different now doesn't he! LOL

I have to say, Rudy was kind enough to call me with a handsome offer before starting this one, but I told him I can already beat every Canadian out there, so I don't need a V8 LOL

Hi Lantana,

the rear end you call is diff and will fit from CLK 55 AMG W208 and E 55 AMG W210 to the Crossfire with no mechanical work on body. The MB part# is A208 350 20 14 but you will need the both axis too, the part# is A208 350 07 10. The axis from CLK 55 AMG W208 will fit to roller bearing in Crossfire too.

The next point is that the rotor shaft from Crossfire is different than from MB like CLK or E class. So you will move the wheel from diff too!

Well I in fact know who is next. The engine trim will be going to Rob for plating very soon. But you know what? The sneaky guy or gal that owns the next one won't even let us tell you what color everything is getting coated.

3rd - You'd actually have to catch me and we all know what color your car is! So I'm not worried at all!

Paul... even if I dont make it down to the dragon I am still willing to attend a chicago meet or something later on in the year to see you and your car if you are still out and driving and there is not much snow. Some time in November I will be able to shoot out there one weekend. EH!

 

Beaner what is this **** about basing your trip on whether it rains or not, are Canadians really that superstitious? LOL

Reason = if it rains I leave work at 9am (don't work in the rain) able to make it to the dragon by 11pm at best. I don't take time off work.
Construction worker... work when it's there, enjoy my time when laid off. Thats why I don't commit till last minuet to all the events.
However... I do know things will be slow in a month or two. I will have free time then! Not that it will help me with this event

 

Hope it rains on Friday then Beaner .....well at least where you are !!
