installed eurocharged 181 pulley, car won't start
I have triple checked everything. Since eurocharged does not provide instructions a fellow memember sent me the let pulley instructions which helped a lot. But im sure there are some differences. Timing seems to be off. It cranks up hesitates, and dies down. what should i be looking for???? Thanks
That is odd... just swapping the crank pulley shouldn't cause your problem.... unless maybe the pulley is slipping on the crank???
1. did you get the new pulley seated all the way?
2. did you use a new bolt?
3. did you get the bolt tightened to spec?
That is all I can think of that could go wrong with the swap....(other than damaging the front seal)...
Keep us posted....

Well now that u mention it. I used some pb blaster to get the crank bolt out so when i put in th new crank pulley some of it might have gotten on it. I just talked to jerry, he said i should check the flywheel since thats how i got the bolt off. Whats should i check for on the flywheel?

Checked the fly wheel. It rotates when i try to crank it up. Checked all vacuums. It does not seem like the pulley is slipping. Any way to check if i installed the idler pulley wrong, or the crank? I didnt put it in the oven because it was a perfect fit. Should i have done that? Anything else??

Just in case its the crank postiion sensor, can someone tell me where it is locoted and how to get CEL codes from the dash. i know there is a way of doing it but i had it saved on my old comp. thanks.
sounds electrical,,you could have knocked off something electrical ,,unplug and replug all plugs near where you were working. jim
This is just a shot in the dark, but could the battery be weak from leaving a door open or light on while you worked on it. Enough to crank it but not enough to sustain...as I've read really strange things can happen when the battery is weak.
I know its a long shot but worth considering????

Get a cheap scanner from Wart Mart, and go from there. Stop guessing and wasting time. Once you get the code we will know what to do.
