New problem... decided to put everything back together everything was great fired her up fine but WILL NOT IDLE. checked hoses clips wires, etc everything seemed fine took the TB off and noticed the gasket between the TB and the engine was somewhat shot starting to tatter... do you think that would stop my car from idling also its running to rich my buddy was behind the Xfire and noticed black smoke sputtering out. any thoughts ideas thanks?

Yes, I would expect a bad gasket to cause idling and fuel mixture problems.

Most auto parts stores will sell different types of sheet gasket material you can cut out a new gasket. I would try to buy a premade gasket first. I did a quick check on Rockauto.com under mercedes SLK320 and they had a throttle body gasket for $1.79. I then checked Advance Auto online and they had throttle body gasket set for the Crossfire for $12.99.
