swap a srt6 engine and trans in an NA coupe
Good luck My Friend! I take it You have a lot of experience doing German Motor Swaps. Cuz these can get very tricky!
I would also recomend You spend some Quality time with Rudy His contact info has already been posted in this Thread. And as Lantana stated You will Need that Differential.
Please keep us appraised of Your Progress on this Project
Thanks, Herman

You can use your stock diff if you use the stock trans. If you do tihis you will have a very fast SRT becuse the n/a has a much lower 1st gear and the 3.27 will help also. I am using the stock n/a trans with my V8 and have had no problems. My V8 has a bit more torque than a SRT. If you do this the swap will be easier and you can swap trans latter if needed in which case you will probably need the diff and SRT TCU.
I mainly need to know what wiring needs to be modified in the na car to accommodate the new S/C engine. The wiring harness is with the engine so no issues there and the SRT control module will be used as well. I was hoping to keep the 3.27 rearend from the na as it would be a little faster and just use the trans from the S/C car as I did not break the engine from the trans when removing them. I assume I need to rewire the fuse box for the 3 different fuses heat exch pump etc..... What I need to know is if I need to reprogram any of the computer modules to accomplish all of this ......and if so if I can accomplish that or need to send it off to have it done? Do I just swap out all of the modules from the srt and see if that will work in the na chassis ( with the rewire of specific srt fuses and acc) or do I leave the main module as well as the trans module and just swap the engine management computer?,
Thanks,
Robert
Thanks,
Robert
there are a few people that know some of the things you are asking but there is only one person (rudy) that really knows everything that needs to be done in this swap, (this is his profession) ,, try to do it all your self when you get stuck, send the car to rudy and pay him to fix it correctly, I am niot tring saying you can't do it ,,well yes i guess i am , I have made over 30 engine swaps in my lifetime and some were easy,( just hook up the electronics) and go but when it comes to Mercedes,VW, & Audi,, I leave it to those that have the 10 to $20,000.00 computer system to make them work the way the factory said they would. don't rethink it do it ,,i just hope you don't have both cars down for more than a few years. (NOTE) you have to use the tranny with the rear it came with, example srt tranny u must use the srt rear,,use the limited tranny you must use the limited rear . maybe this will help.

Thanks for the reply amx1397. I have contacted Rudy and sent him the paperwork he asked for to get his advice but did not get any reply so far.
I guess he is busy, i think he has two V8's to install into crossfires, and one srt 6 into something, he did advertise puting a srt6 into a limited for $9,000.00 + so you have your own engine ,and doing all your labor ,yea i would say you have knocked off about $5000.00 of the cost, and if he stops working on mine to tell you how to do it then my price goes down. if yours is free,, then mine is free. there are two 3.2 srt6 engines on ebay one for 3500. and the other 2700,( just information) as you know Rudy and Paul are installing a V8 into my crossfire and the cost is about 1/3 less than what they want to put a ls7 into a 2005 cst caddy, that already has a v8 just not supercharged,, eng tranny and ecu, the same thing i am gettting in my crossfire (crossfire is getting a mercedes 5.5 amg motor with tranny and ecu all working like the factory intended it to.,, enjoy your project it is fun to make changes like this.
,Oh i did find a Co. in Germany that also make the swap. the 6 into a limited is 15,999.00 and to install a v8 into a C32 or a crossfire they wants 35,999.00 plus shipping overseas to him. jim

No biggie I have done swaps in the past and if I swap ALL of the control modules from the SRT into the N/A vehicle it would not know it was ever changed from the original chasis. I was planning on using all the wiring harnesses and to rewire the motor for the spoiler into the srt harness but it looks like the fuse is already in the srt harness for it. If the ign, rearend, engine, trans and exhaust is all swapped as well as all the electrical then I don't understand how the computer (brain) would know it wasn't in the same chasis.
doing all that it has no choice but too work, I would think.. keep us posted on your progress, if you use the limited tranny and tcm you can run the 327 rear i think, otherwise change rear, tranny, and tcm.
as you have read i tried to use the 327 with the srt 6 tranny and tcm (did not work) also tried to reprogram the tcm to the limited (did not work), had to use srt tranny srt tcm srt rear (307),, let us know jim

Jst a follow up on the swap and it is running well now for the last 6 months with little or no issues. I did get some directions from DBLOADER and Rudy thanks to all for the advise.
Thanks and it was nice meeting you.....glad you drove all the way from "Georgia" to Johnstown CO just to Dyno your beautiful car. (SSB is my favorite color on these cars). Hope to see at the next GTG. I was kind of suprised after calculating the #'s that we had a better Dyno run than my first 1 at the shop in Denver.
Here are the #'s
I guess Dyno's really are different from 1 shop to another. Or maybe the humidity and slight altitude is some of it.
My runs on the Dynojet this weekend were better than the original at the shop in Denver.
Those # were as follows
rwh at 5280 altitude 304hp
rwh correct for sea 352
crank hp 359
crank sea 426
The shop in Johnstown for this weekends SRT club GTG.
rwh at 4882 altitude 325hp
rwh corrected for sea 379
crank hp 372
crank sea 438
