swap a srt6 engine and trans in an NA coupe
I have the opportunity to buy a complete 2005 SRT6 that was wrecked in the front. I already have a 2004 coupe...I know I will need the wiring harness and computer etc as well as the trans and accessories. Any other considerations? Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.
If you change the trans which is a good idea, get the rear end and transmission control unit. Get everything unique to the SRT such as heat exchanger, plumbing, pump remote mount and plumbing for the smog pump. You might even want to grab the dash and ignition and key just for fun as well as the front and rear calipers and rotors. Might even grab the shocks, springs and wheels and then send the rear hatch and body contol module to me.
what is the srt costing you?
how much labor cost to do the swap?
do u know what wires to cut and wire in the srt?
this is along with the srt harness!
did you see this turn key set up?
there is a lot to it but go for it just have about $15,000.00 for all the stuff u will need,
read the posr #2 three or rour times first.

I will be doing the work on all of this and plan on parking them side by side in my garage and taking all of the SRT6 parts off and replacing the NA parts with all of the things that make an SRT an SRT. I am not sure what all nods are needed in the wiring harness but was hoping for help from you guy's.
Actually the salvage title and other things make it a better idea to swap the parts to the NA car. Has anyone done this swap before and if so can they give some tips to me so I know the pitfalls?
-----------yes. ---------pm this guy he can help and or he can do it for you. jim

There was another member a while back swapped out SRT bits into a yellow roadster, haven't heard from them since. Best advise is to contact Ruby......I mean Rudy!
I have the brakes /rotors, engine, transmission, wiring harness, computers and suspension from the donor car. I will now transfer them to the NA car. Am I going to need to reprogram anything as the wrecked SRT6 deployed the airbags from the accident and the front was damaged. I didn't purchase the seats or dash instrumentation as it looked to be basically the same as my NA car.
The engine, transmission, brakes and all electrical are costing me $3800
The car had 7191 on the odometer when it was wrecked.
I don't know why I would need the rear end but should I get it anyway?
I haven't seen anything that says it is different from the NA 1 in the car now.
Any other comments before I get started on this project?
I may not have the ability to get other parts from this car after this weekend so please let me know.

the reason you will need the diff is the gearing that the tcu will recognize. you need to contact rcompart and enlist (meaning pay) him for his expertise in this endeavor. it can be done but its no simple swap. heat exchanger secondary airpump i/c pump ecu tcu just to name a few things that have to considered. being able to decode the ecu which is encrypted in german is why most havent messed with this
You will need the transmission control unit and it wants to see a 3.07 rear gear which is why you need the diff. check with Rudy and validate this. Did you also get the heat exchanger, intercooler pump, mount and plumbing? Good luck with everything. You will need to work with Rudy to program the ECU to your car.
