Default 2006 Cats

Have a question about the cats. I purchased this car used from a Dealer and now have a code showing oxygen sensor post cat problem. I replaced the sensor and then noticed a crack in the front cat top in the weld. Was going to take it to the chrysler dealer since I saw the 8/80 on the emmisions components. Today I noticed that something didnt look right on my car when I looked up an exhaust replacement just as a backup plan. the owner before me must have removed something. I have attached pictures so please tell me what they removed.

It passed emissions in Jan and it was like that so do you have to have them or did I just get lucky? Also I have the drivers side (US) cat that is cracked. Would you suggest welding it?

The emissions is based off the front(first) cats, that is why the O2 sensor is before and after them. The rear cats are MB's way of reducing pollution????

The failed cat you have SHOULD be replaced under warranty... they may argue that taking the rear cats out caused it.... but I would make them prove how.... one other member here had a similar failure to yours and got it fixed under warranty...

Thanks for all the help, this forum is better than the mechanic at the dealership. They wanted to replace ALL oxygen sensors at 1K. I went to Oreillys auto parts store and had them read the code. Purchased one oxygen sensor for post cat bank 2. Replaced it and the light came back on. Was going to switch it to the other side when I found the crack in the cat. Had a local take the exhaust down and weld the cracked cat and found that the passenger side cat was craking also. Welded it and the light hasnt came on since. Thanks for ALL your help....almost looking forward to the next problem!!
