IC Pump Question
Hi All,
Forgive me as I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere (I have searched the boards for quite a while now but can't seem to find the information I'm hunting for). Any help you could give me (or direct me to the appropriate thread) would be greatly appreciated. My question is: I'm pretty sure my IC pump is going or gone (based on symptoms others have described). How essential is it to replace this part? Can I still drive the car without damaging it? (I do intend to replace it eventually, but just don't have the cash this month). I don't drive the car hard if that matters. Second, could someone please explain to me what exactly an IC pump is and what it does (please explain as if you were talking to a child.. I'm not very car savvy, but I am really trying to learn!!) Thanks!! Haley

the i/c circulates the fluid from the intercooler to the heat exchanger and back. if your in a pinch the exact same pump is located just above the i/c pump. its for the heater and can be used for the i/c pump until the funds allow you to replace it
What Krazy said
!
Besides, what's the point of driving a SRT if, when passing or accelerating, it moves like an old truck? Better to sell it then & buy youself something else.
The pump isn't too expensive, it's reasonably easy to replace & even if your all thumbs when it comes to cars, it won't break the bank having a local mechanic install it.
Just do it
