Oil Use Question
Have a 2005 Coupe with 38k miles. Bought it last year at 32k miles.
Had the oil changed at the dealership in Dec 2010 and since then I've had to add oil on two occasions. One quart in May and another quart today.
No drip marks in the garage and not blowing any smoke. Everything running fine.
Is this kind of oil usage normal?

You should change your oil way more often than every 8 or 9 months... Im not sure what happens to synthetic oils when they sit for long periods of time wether they separate or not.
I have never had to add oil between changes and Im at 74000 now. Mine will "smoke" but its only water vapor never oil. With the cats and resonators on our cars you may never be able to tell its burning any. Are your tips staying clean like the insides if they get real black really quick that could be an indication.

black tips = rich,,,FUEL that is , and our cars are set up rich,, but the miles i agree change your oil every 5 to 6000 miles or every 4 months which ever comes first,,, i change my oil every 90 days, why cause my car needs new blood every 90 days. jim
For what it's worth, the tech noticed oil on my brush guard the last time my oil ws changed. It turned out that I had a valve cover leak. That's been corrected, but my point is that my leak never hit the garage floor.
Therefore, I'd suggest that you check there to determine if you have an oil leak.
I agree with the other respondents that I've never had to add oil between changes.
Good luck.

I'd put it on a lift, and remove the oil splash pan cover.
If you see old caked oil on bottom of the pan, or look up at underside side of engine, and see oil, it can be those pesky Valve Covers.
When mine were leaking, never saw oil on garage floor, but it was in the pan and on engine bottom.
I never had to add oil, with or without the Cover leak...

If the Valve Covers check okay, check this link for additional insight from a similiar thread:
