popping noise from exhaust
basically i have a 2004 chysler crossfire, and recently whenever i start the car first thing in the morning there is a popping noise noise coming from the exhaust it stops making the noise as soon as the engine warms up wondered if anyone could help me please.
so what should i do, is it nothing serious then if it is just moisture in the exhaust.
and dont think there is any unburned fuel, theres no smell.

Well, Woody had a good point as well...these cars do tend to run rich at first, so whether moisture, or fuel...this is a normal thing, and I wouldn't worry about it...especially since she is fine once warm...both indicating it isnt' a problem...drive it and enjoy...welcome btw..
oh ok thanks oledoc2 you have been very helpful, the popping only happens when i start the car when the engine is cold so guessing there no leak then as it stops popping when she warmed up after a min.
expansion and contraction Dave...if there is a leak, it is small enough to close once warm... all things mentioned are possible, but nothing to worry about...
The only thing that would bother me about a (possible) exhaust leak, even if it was very minor, and stopped on warm (due to expansion), was the possibility of fumes seaping into the car.
Although if this was the case, you should notice if it had entered your interior (with that unique smell).
Couldn't hurt to jack it up, or put on a lift and check around (especially for corrosion at any joints)...
