Default P0172 & P0175

Hi, I have two codes coming up P0172 &P0175. I went to change the MAF sensor and the viehicle would not idle when replaced. I thought it must be a bad MAF, but when I put another one on I gat the same reaction. Could someone have re-programmed the computer that would cause this? Any other ideas?
Thanks

Anyone figure it out im getting the same codes. When i get a chance im going to clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor. See if that helps. Im only getting the code when i drive my car hard.

There are quite a number of things that can cause those codes. Cleaning the MAF will do no harm, but I wouldn't start replacing parts hoping for a cure. First get the car scanned properly with a quality Mercedes or DRB III tool. If you haven't access to something other than a generic OBD II scanner it would be best to take the car to an independent garage that specializes in European imports and let them scan it. A good scan should get you headed in the right direction; MAP sensor, throttle position sensor, thermostat, air or coolant sensors, several different possibilities in the exhaust system. Get it scanned.

I cleaned my mass air flow sensor and throttle body today. It runs like new again.
