Ofcourse the first thing thats going to need to go is the stock exhuast. ive done some research and know that the way to go is cat back and prefferable a maganflow. does anyone know a good place to obtain one from, also prefferably the cheapest way to do this. any suggestions are much appreciated!!

As long as you realize your not going to get any appreciable HP gains from an exhaust system, I suggest you look up (search) the forum on the systems available. The biggest gains for the N/A have come from 74mm TB and MAF housing, descreen the MAF plastic screen and debaffle the TB elbow, a eurocharged tune, and a CAI. The tune can be reflashed as many times as you mod the car so I would get that right away, then you can do the CAI or the 74mm TB upgrade as you can. BTW, the tune is on sale right now until end of month, 300 bucks for the cable and tune, thats quite a savings!

Im on a $600 budget as of right now until i can come across some more money, is spending half my budget on tuner the way to go? or will i need to have other upgrades first in order to actually see an improvement. Thank you for the suggestion but now confused on the path i should seek for my xfire!
Without a doubt, get the tune now, because as GG said, he will reflash it for you free down the road if you mod it further, and with the deal, you already own the cable for the future. I would also suggest a needswings single CAI, it is a little outside your budget with the tune, but not too much, and both together would yield you a nice gain, all cars are different, but I would guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 WHP and a tleast a half second in the quarter.

I did the TB, MAF, dexcreen/baffle, and noticed little increase, but I am just going by feel since i have not dynoed it. On the flip side, I had a very noticeable gain with the tune and CAI respectively.

Go here ( N/A ) and select the first and last item on the list. During checkout, type in the code "George" and it'll remove all costs but $300.00. You'll get the cable in the mail and when you do just email them at jake@eurocharged.com and schedule the over the internet flash of your ECU. About the TB mod, the folks I know that had problems wound up having a air leak somewhere in the system. When the TB/MAF housing is replaced there shoulf be a throttle reset, and then you'll have a couple of minutes of rough idle until it finds its new settings. I found after running for about three minutes (after the throttle reset) if you shut it off and start it again, its all good. It was idling just a little higher than normal for about two more restarts and then back to 500rpm in gear and about 650 in park. Oh, after the TB/MAF upgrade, make sure you reschedule another reflash as the A/F ratios will be a little off. Have fun and get that tune fast!

The tune seems like a great buy for the future but with my current stock setup, will the tune make any improvements or is this a buy just for the cheap price? thank you for the comments and suggestions!!

I think you will be happy, and it is the gift that keeps on giving. (free re-flashes)
You should see an immediate improvement, but the tune will also make any future mods better.
I have the Magnaflow, and love the sound, but it is not a performance enhancing mod. I wish I had the funds to jump on the "George" sale right now.
At $300 it is easily the best bang for the buck currently available for the Crossfire.

This is not entirely accurate, Max had a leak somewhere, but had had it since the car was new, me and several others had no leaks and I dealt with a bad/surging idle for around 1,000 miles over a few weeks. I worked it out at the Dragon, really pushing the car, but it would not be very high on my list of mods because the tune and CAI make SUCH a difference...

Whereas I installed the CAI ( with Max's help ), had no issues.
Installed the 74mm ( by myself ), again absolutely NO issues.
Had the EC tune done , again, no issues.
Still idles just as it did when I bought it ......
( Guess some folks are just plain lucky - and I am actually getting better MPG )

Glad it worked out well for you, but I was simply trying to make sure the correct info is in the thread for the next guy.

So did the TB really give you some gains? I could barely even tell...

If you or anyone has done this process before approx how long does it take to get a reply and then once you speak with them how long does it take until the flash? Thank you!!

just keep after them. They will respond. Once your time is set up, it will take less than a half hour, if your internet connection is good. You do have a laptop, with internet access, I hope?
