We only ran for about 1/4 mile or so. It gets even better though. He was running NOS. I had my window down, and could hear him hitting it the whole time. I was blown away by it. I never in a million years thought that little Ninja Turtle on steriods wouldn't beat the pants off of me. I had a grin from ear to ear. I wish I had my Camera at that moment, because I was like HOLY SH**. "No way that just happend"
But any way, I understand and I agree with what your saying. However we don't have any real stats on this cars performance at all. Its not like a 96 Camero were there is a boat load of information, and has a history behind it. This car kind of was born yesterday, so lets wait and see what she can do. But bottom line is all this is strange to me as well as to all of you. I really did not believe in my heart that this mod. would effect the cars performance this much. I think it is actually really cool, and kind of reminds me of a Power Stroker engine.

I don't know. You would get beaten badly by an SRT-4. It wouldn't be close, even with a driver who wasn't very good. It runs a 5.3 0-60 stock. As for the NOS, you can't exactly hear if someone is using it, and if he was, he could be the worst driver in the world and it wouldn't even be close. You were probably hearing the turbo... He must not have been trying very hard, if at all. I think Chrysler might have made a mistake and dropped an SRT-6 motor in your car or something. Chrysler should take your intake and use that instead of the supercharger in the SRT-6, cut the price premium in half, and make a huge profit.
yeah srt 4's run as low as 13.9 stock per time slips over at srtforums.com, my favorite car website by the way. im trying to keep faith in this things, but still no dyno's, its been a long time, and the stories are getting slightly crazier everyday.
Just for the sake of argument, the SRT-4's have been known to spring leaks at the intercooler connections. Chrysler used sub-standard hoseclamps which have resulted in a loss of boost during hard driving. It's possible that this SRT-4 was experiencing such a leak and wasn't making anywhere near max power. The air leak is even audible over the turbo, engine, and exhaust. So who knows.
What I was hearing was a PPPPPSSSSSTT sound. At first I thought maybe it was his blow off valve. Then I remembered in my brothers old saleen mustang ran Nos., and you could actually hear the bursts. He didn't run the fogger system. In fact I don't think they even really had then.
This KID is a trip, I swear he sounds like a 16 year old. Its real easy to make this stuff up because he doesn't go to a track with it. I'm telling you he sells snake oil on the side. Saskins your intake is nice looking and as mightyjlr said it probably adds some nice sound, but thats it. Katie is being generous with her numbers, but even if we give you that, you're so far off base that EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS TAINTED. Please take the thing to a dyno and once and for all prove to yourself that all you have is a nice looking intake that doesn't add much (2-8hp tops). Listen, your buddy, HDDP said (the kid can drive, but he couldn't keep up with the 6 speed). Come on Saskins get real!!!!!!!!! If anything you claim is true you would have blown his doors off, suspension or no suspension.

No need to be so harsh. I'm not saying he didn't beat the SRT-4, I'm just saying something was up with it, or the other car wasn't trying. And I don't doubt those are the 0-60 times he got, but something was done wrong, because those numbers aren't possible.
I'm not saying he didn't beat the srt either, There are plenty of people that can't get performance from their cars. The thing is, lots of people look at forums like this one because they aren't into engines and cars and are just looking to enhance their stuff. If they were to read some of our members saying they added (as an example) Slick 50 to the oil and gained 20hp and 4mpg, they would probably believe it. You and I know it isn't going to happen, but the fact that they see it here lends credence to it and the average person would be fooled. I just wish he would stop acting like a kid and go to a dyno or better yet, take the thing to a drag strip and post his sheets. After reading all the things he's said in his posts, its easy to see that nothing he says is believable. His posts remind me of the ones you read in the penthouse letters forum. Strickly fiction, nuff said.
No need to be so rude about it. I've never gotten the impression that Sean was trying to sell snake oil. He even said he plans on taking it to the track to get 1/4 mile times. He also said he had two people running the stop watch. Try not to be so confrontational. Sean has spent a lot of time and money on making his intakes, which is more than I can say for 99% of the rest of us.
Thank you very much. If anyone is acting like a 16yr. old it's you Hobbymanbill. I don't think you have contributed one positive attribute to this community. Why don't you stop putting down others, inorder to make yourself feel better about you. I work extremely hard in the attempts of designing something great, and maybe its something everyone of you maybe able to benefit from. So instead of putting all your energy on trying to knock something down, why don't you build it up. I think we as a kick *** community are just trying to do that very thing.
The minute you post some real numbers, I'll shut up. I said it before, but I'll say it again, I don't have an agenda, nor do I have the need to put someone down to make myself feel good. Spending time and money on things that don't work is simply foolish. I appreciate anyones effort to improve their car. I also have been doing this long enough to know what helps and what doesn't. Turbo's , Supercharging, Injectors, Tuned port systems, more valves etc Improve the pumps ability to breath. Changing filters and adding tubing do virtually nothing as you would see if you went to the drag strip or put the car on a dyno. The only reason I spoke up at all is because some folks on here think what you're doing will help their cars performance, and as I've said before 2% maybe is all you're going to get. Think of it this way, I'm your conscience and I'm going to help you do the right thing. I don't know you so I certainly don't dislike you, I dislike how you go about what you say and what you say you do. If you say things that make sense I'll support you. If you don't I won't. Bill
PS For those of you that think I'm being to confrontatinal or harsh, go to the second gen camaro forum and post something like is being said by saskins, and you'll get a chance to see what harsh really is. Those guys are super critical of anyone making phony claims unsupported by hard data as are most of the forums for car nuts. Just trying to keep it real for the average folks out there. Bill

Hey Hobbyman,
You have no real hard evidence to boldly state "I'm full of crap." as fact . You have no idea as to what I do. Your basing everything on some pictures and some shop talk. So unless your over my shoulder watching everything I do, go chat with your camaro friends. Maybe then you can stop wasting mine and every body else on this forums time. Seriousely it's kind of sad that you won't stop talking about it. Especially when you yourself are making PHONY claims. Don't call someone a llier unless you are 100% absolutly sure, or have some proof that they are in fact lying. I would give you that respect.

What are you guys talking about ? ... Hobbyman, I've followed this thread... and it has turned into garbage... Much like many of the other posts on the forum... "SASKINS" has modified his intake and it seems to be a bit "Throatier" in sound... We were actually competing against eachother at Willow Springs Internation Raceway a few weeks ago and I saw his mods...
Modifications are just that... A little tweak here, a little tweak there... And presto you got your opponent in the rearview mirror...
Before you start, take your Crossfire out on the track, preferrably a road course, and figure out where your car is lacking performance for your type of driving needs...
Then look in your wallet and figure out how much you can spend to make your car more competetive...
And then look in the mirror and figure out how much of the problem is with the drivers expertise or the car's performance...
We have a great time on the track and go "***** TO THE WALL" when we're out there... YES, we would like to have an extra 22k for the Renntech modifications, but we don't... So, we do what we do...
Consider this an invitation to join us on any road course in the USA... and we'll be there...
I'm trying to figure out a way to post some in-car video of our last race for your enjoyment...

I'm still waiting to meet up so call me 805-701-9017 Dan
I have posted a few times that I'm making my own intake. After having run my car the most I think Ive gaind is between 7-10 hp at the wheels. It is felt at the throttle. No not a big diffrence, probaly more noise than power. But if you can get even 30hp from a intake, chip and exhaust and spent less than $1500. You can't complain !
Saskins its a single intake with a k&n. Im not chipped yet but I will soon. I live in Miami so between hurricanes and the fact that the company I work for is being bought out well , I do not have to much play cash needless to say.
