Pentastar V6 bolts to out 6spd.
So, I've done some research. And I think that the new Pentastar V6 bolts up to our 6spd transmissions.
Our 6speed transmission is a Chrysler NSG370. built by Daimler.
And is used in the new Jeep Wrangler Pentastar V6 6speeds.
The Jeep NSG370 Transmission - Novak Conversions
This website states they use the tranny for GM V8 conversions. So I think it would hold up.
What a combo that would make. And parts for years to come.
Get a stock 305hp Pentastar from a Dodge Challenger with no weight or MPG loss!!!
I'll run my original motor until it's Got tons of miles! Then, look to put a Pentastar V6 in.
By the time that happens, there will be millions of these motors out there. 11 vehicle now use this motor. And is the only V6 Chrysler makes. This will be the only V6 MoPar will have for the foreseeable future! They already made 1 million of them in 18 months!!! This engine might end up being a V6 like the small block Chevy V8. Low cost with TONS of aftermarket support!

Do a search, and you'll find swapping motors into this platform is not that easy, due to the complex benz electronics ...........but hey if there's a will there's a way ................right ?
I have the new pentastar in my 2013 Grand Cherokee. Nice engine, 27mpg highway for a 2 ton SUV. But, squeezing it into the bay of the Xfire would be a miracle I believe. Its a big V6 and like magredvet said, the electronic conversion would be a nightmare. I'd rather just buy a Challenger. Test drove a few recently and was impressed.
We test drove a 2012 JCG with the V6. It was a dog (I live at 6000' asl). Of course, that engine would run much better in the lighter Crossfire. Like others have said, I seriously doubt that you would get that Pentastar to work with the existing Crossfire electronics. Why not save money, time, and hassle and get an SRT-6?
Mr P - Since our engines, trannys and suspensions are all MB, parts will be readily available into the foreseeable future, and in most cases, cheaper at a Benz dealer vs. a Chrysler dealer. Soft trim & body parts will be the challenge going forward.
Interesting that Jeep went with the older Daimler tranny rather than a Fiat or Alfa based gearbox, particularly since the MB unit is not known for smooth shifts. Also of interest for us OCD 6 sp manual owners is that Jeep specs Mopar MS-9224 oil for their gearbox while the same tranny in the Xfire is spec'd for a 5W-20 motor oil. The MS-9224 is a 5W-30 synchromesh fluid similar to this: AMSOIL Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid 5W-30
Wonder if the newer fluid can be back-spec'd to the Xfire, and if so, will it improve that notchy 1st to 2nd gear shift?
I've got two vehicles with the Pentastar V6 (Jeep & 200 conv), and while a powerful engine, there's not a lot of aftermarket parts available yet, despite the million units already produced.

If you have the money and the time, I'm sure that you can get it to work. I know there is a coupe out there with a 5.7 Hemi in it, so it can be done, but the guy had to drop at least $15k if not more.
I'm sorry, but you're absolutely wrong. The 6 speed MT in the Crossfire is a Mercedes 716.660 SG-S400.

Why would anyone install a 3.6 Chrysler V6 into a Crossfire, considering the entire drivetrain of a Crossfire is Mercedes Benz from the Karmann factory in Germany? The sheer cost of mating two different drivetrains is not cost effective, time to go back to your drawing board for another idea!
