Default Temperature Guage

I bought a 2005 coupe. Is normal for the temp guage to sit at half way and creep over half only to go back down a tad during normal driving ?

Normal, but I hate it. They designed the car such that the fan turns on about 18F higher than the thermostat opens. I had the "-10c" mod done and now mine never quite makes it to halfway, no matter the temperature outside OR if I am moving or not.

The mod costs $50 at Buckhead Imports in Atlanta. They simply plug into the diagnostic connector and tell the PTCM to turn the fan on 10 degrees C (which is 18F) lower than factory.

My UltraGauge shows mine as a constant 185 F when driving 55 - 75.
In traffic, it shows it can go as high as 210 F :

At 185, the temp gauge is one needle width below center, at 210 it is slightly above center.

Anyone know if the 18F fan mod is included in the Eurocharged tune?

I think Rudy talked about this... that when they tune the cars, they (no kidding) assume you are going to be DRIVING the car, and this is part of how they - how did he say it - keep the car ready to "RUN". That is, this keeps you ahead of the game heat-wise.

Mine never reaches the center mark now, no matter how hot it gets here in Georgia!

Mine is EuroCharged, still runs between 186 & 210 ........

a/c off, hiway = 186
a/c on hiway = 192
a/c off city = 200
a/c on city = 210

I don't know, I took the tread off a pair of rear tires in less than 11,000 miles.
If I push it any more, I'm gonna run outta tire money, two sets of tires in 11 months!
