Pizza's Turn
No mods, John. I've done nothing - I think the suggestion about checking the vacuum lines is a good one, tho.
It didn't to WOT, I'd say it opened 5 to 8% of WOT - so the hose idea sounds about right.

When I installed my 74mm TB I had the same problem. It was a gasket aroung the interior of the elbow that was leaking. Fixed that and a few months later installed a 3inch MAF. It had a sensor in it, tried to use it but it did the same thing. Pulled my old sensor out of the Smaller MAF and installed in the 3 inch, ran perfect. I also took out the screen and baffles. Have not had any problems since. Hope this was some help!
It won't do it unless I drive the car and get it to full temperature. Shut it off, let it sit for 10-20 minutes, then drive it. It SEEMS to only show up as I coast down hill with no throttle after restarting, I will notice the car picking up what seems like more speed than it should, shove the clutch in, and the tack goes to about 4100 and sits there.
I'm traveling for the company every week now, have not been home much and CERTAINLY have not been driving the car much.
The "going downhill with no throttle" right after startup seems to have a LOT to do with it. It does not do it around town, going on errands, etc. Come to think of it, it only has done it above about 2200 feet above sea level. I live and work at around 1100 feet. But that may just be coincidence that "going downhill with no throttle" can't happen unless you are going down a LOT of hill...
