Default Borla has two part numbers for NA exhaust. One is substantially more expensive

What the difference?

The first part#140083 is $759 and is cat back
The second is part#1014003 is almost $200 more but had no description.

Secondly, there is a resonator that on my first coupe I installed but wasn't sure if I should have. What does the extra resonator chamber do? the factory exhaust didn't seem to have that, that I remember anyway.

Are there any headers for the NA and are they worth it. Ease of install? Looking to do a complete exhaust right this time along with a Eurocharge tune and my Renntech airbox should yield good results. Opinions please.

What does the resonator do?

Especially on an N/A I don't think the exhaust will gain you any performance, only sound.

The Borla and clones have an extra resonator to make the exhaust sound deeper without being really loud.

I don't know what the difference is, but I'd recommend an OBX instead. It's basically a knock-off of the Borla, and it sounds and works great at 1/2 the cost.

I know that Rob and others have worked on headers for the N/A but I don't think there's an off-the-shelf option yet.

I have installed the OBX Racing catback. The only difference I can see between it and the Borla is possibly a bit less quality in the welds.
That being said, I am still entirely happy with the OBX, especially at $334 vs $748.
They are both made with the same grade SS, and the construction is identical.

So the resonator makes it sound deeper? Without the resonator would it be louder? Has anyone taken the resonator off?
