Default Megan Muffler v. Magnaflow Catback (Video)

Hi guys,

Been a while since I've posted anything, but thought I'd go ahead and share a video I made comparing my old muffler to my new one.

Old: Megan Racing M-RS

New: Magnaflow Catback

Hopefully if you're on the fence about upgrading your exhaust, this video will help push you over the edge

Thank you so much, this is the best comparison of exhaust notes on the internet!!!!

You just got me off the fence and almost 99% sure I want the megan system.

however, with the rear cats removed and this muffler, is there a drone in the cabin? Would I be able to make a call from my car??

thanks!

Hey Hecti,

Thanks for the compliment.

To be honest, the Megan muffler provided quite a bit of drone even before I removed the two rear cats. I didn't notice much of a difference with the drone once they were removed, but it did get a whole lot louder in general.

Fair warning though, when I had the Megan muffler installed, my girlfriend told me she could hear me coming from ~1 mile away. It's an attention grabber for sure, but man did it feel good to upgrade to that over stock

The ONLY downside of the Megan muffler vs. the Magnaflow system is that you have to cut/weld the Megan, whereas the Magnaflow you can bolt on. (Although the difference in price is also huge hehe)

Anyway, let me know if you have any more questions. Also, here's a (lower quality) video from when I switched from stock to the Megan muffler for the first time.

Thanks JHM2K

Edit:

Oh, and as for making a call from your car. It can be done, but the person on the other end will definitely know you're in a car. It is IMPOSSIBLE to use the speakerphone bluetooth's with either muffler installed. Haven't tried the earpiece style, but you might have better luck with one of those
