Default Eurocharged Log Thread.

I am a new owner of an 05 roadster N/A. I did the eurocharged tune and I was able to record my first log last night. I am curious about which gear or gears we should focus on when recording. Also, I am used to reading logs on a forced induction vehicle. We focused on boost, IAT, and timing in 3rd and 4th gears. We have no boost in the N/A car and I haven't a clue how much or little advance in timing i should expect with the Eurocharged tune. Once I have a few guidelines I will be happy to post graphed logs for review.

Once we had a good log or two, we could send them to our tuner for tweaks, torques and whp! I hope that Eurocharged will be able to do the same.

Right now, I am running K & N drop ins and hope to install a magnaflow exhaust I purchased from one of the fourm members a couple of weeks back. (I haven't got it just yet)

Rember I am new here, and I hope to create a thread that drivers can refer to for good information regardless of which tune they are running.

Ok, I have run some logs but i haven't sent any to the team yet. I have added drop ins from K&N, Custom Built MagnaFlow Muffler from the Guys at Henery's Muffler in Raleigh, Eibach Pro-kit and Sprint Booster. I am curious.... Should I reset the ECU/Reflash the Software and let the Tune learn with Sprint Booster on ....OR......Let the Tune learn at stock setting, then add the sprint booster. Anything thoughts on this? Or does it really not matter....

I have had the tune for a while. I was curious, if the software adapts based on fuel and air available. I'm thinking sprint booster is allowing fuel and air to come sooner in the power band. WOT should come sooner during launches and I'm wondering if power needs to be managed differently because of the changes made by sprint booster. I'm finding that the improvements made by the sprint booster give an unmanageable amount of low end torque. I was hoping for a small punch in the middle of the power band as well. I read that stacking them might have this effect and it's true. Looks like one or the other works great, but both are too much in a daily driver even at the middle setting for sprint booster. Perhaps the AT version will be better or one of the Merc Amg versions. BTW, I love torque, spinning tires and driving aggressively. The power application with mt version when stacked with euro tune makes the car less pleasurable to drive.

I've got the SRT6 Throttle Body coming my way. Can't wait to see how the car performs with it installed. Will I need to ping Echarged for new firmware?

Throttle reset for the sprint booster. Once you feel the throttle lagging again. Do the throttle reset, drive the car like you stole it until it performs the way you want. If you drive normal, it will learn normal. Always need to reset the throttle from time to time, and drive it hard. It just opens the throttle quicker, nothing more...

So, whats next?

Everyone likes to do intake first! $500 for a cold air intake is alot of $. Then $150 for an Engine cover.....

I got an exhaust, tune, and a larger TB for that much $. I also have a sprint booster, k&n drop ins. Until someone sells the Needswings intake, Im holding out.

so what is the next logical step? fuel pump upgrade? injectors? or is my next biggest whp maker going to be the intake?

That intake chunk is why I went this route.. improved over stock and you get the under hood roar on acceleration.. re sell the K&N's.. the "haters" will probably be along shortly to tell you why you shouldn't.. LOL

Those are a ridiculous cheap price. I think it's a good way to go if you don't want to spend the big bucks on other intake systems. I used to like the look of my big MB V8 air-box, but it was a lot more expensive. Looks like a good route to go.

I have heard about the MB V8 Air Box. The needswings is handsome but pricey. I would love someone to step up out of their single and bump to the double. More likely I can find a V8 cover (if it fits?? does it fit? Doesn't something rub??) from MB.

I have some decent mods now for my Xfire. 74MMTB, Exhaust, Tune, Sprint Booster, drop ins. I've just contacted Eurocharged and they upgraded my software in a matter of minutes this time! Quick and professional answers to dumb questions, firmware upgrade and happy customer.
I plan to drive for a few weeks with sprint booster off, let the new flash manifest itself and finally post some logs. I'm still digging for timing, intake temp, oil temp, fuel trim, etc optimiums so that I can see how my logs compare in my 134k roadster. Also plan to lay down some 1/4 mile runs with a dynolicouos program (for fun) as I think I would have most of the tq/hp related mods anyone would want for a car like this. Besides the intake, I've seen a fuel pump option, people that tried other injectors and found that they were making less power. Headers for 1200$ (i don't think so). Nitrous anyone? Someone tell me about the fuel pump upgrade?

Is the the box? are there others? certain v8 boxes that fit or look better than others? I really think it's the route I want to go.

So 2o minutes of searching, All the V8 air boxes I see on crossfires are infact MB V8s that have been swapped in. If someone infact knows the answer to this question, if they could chime in please and perhaps post a link to all the info that is already available that I can't find.

Well, I did find this! I really like the way it looks!

I bought a used intake off of Ebay for $300, there were a few of them popping up a couple months ago. You just have to be patient. The moment I saw one, I didn't even bid I just hit BUY IT NOW!

Think again, they are for a V8. You list the numbers and then show an auction for different parts.
The engine cover you show will fit but it will hit the hood liner and rub. The nose piece is too long and will not fit at all.
The V8 covers are about 1/2" to thick, the correct one just misses like the OEM cover.
Correct parts with pictures are listed here.

Imagine if I only searched for 30 seconds....

I don't see anything "here".

I am getting frustrated now. Is there another Crossfire forum where the know it all's actually know it all? I clearly stated earlier that there was a V8 cover that folks were using that was a bit too big for our engine bay. Several responses saying, it's all over and just do a simple search. Then a post from an MB forum was referenced and in that post these part numbers are listed. It is not my intention to advertise the wrong answers to seemingly easy questions that everyone already knows the answer to. This was a Eurocharged Log Thread that was intended to show Eurocharged's effective ability to tune modified cars and to list the specific modifications by part number. It seems now to have turned into a "why don't you know this yet" thread. Let's put this to rest please and validate a V8 air box that fits or state the fact that it doesn't fit. I'd love to upgrade the intake effectively and for less than $600 (NW single w/ MERC Engine cover)

If you click on his red "here".. it will take you there. 9 out of 10 times a red link is a url shortcut. Other times it's just someone bored and needing a little color in their life.. LOL

Clicked on it for grins.. as I have already read this.. you get a free PDF file with this one.
