Just a quick update.
New MAF is installed, all adjustments have been reset so that the computer can learn the new MAF. Idle is a lot smoother and the car feels more powerful. Once the computer is done adjusting I will know if this fixed the rich issues but no CEL yet so I am hopeful!
All emissions tests have finished and passed except for the purge valve, it still hasn't run. Since I didn't have an issue with this before I doubt that it will fail.
As long as the MAF proves to be the fix, Eurocharged is tuning the car next week. Yesterday they confirmed that their software is able to talk to the ECU, now they are going to talk to the tuner and come up with a tune. Should smooth out the idle even more and give it more power

Update and make a damn thread about how cool it is lol. I've heard, **** I know how huge a difference it is! Write about it man!!
Lol, sorry I've been really busy, too much time enjoying the new engine lol.
I actually drove up to NH last weekend (sorry everyone I promised I would tell when I drove up, I just didn't have the time in the short trip I made) and had two races on the way up. Well okay, one race and one just showing off against a limited coupe (I know I know, it really wasn't fair). Coming out of Baltimore a very heavily modified 350z wanted to race. We did about 5 or 6 pulls from 50-60 up to 140. I won one by a quarter car length, he won one by the same amount and the rest of the times it was completely dead even. I have no idea what he had done to his car, it was crazy loud, and crazy fast though. No idea how he was able to keep up. I wanted to try to get him to stop so I could ask what he had done, but before I could he ended up getting pulled over for speeding lol. Luckily for me I had already slowed down since I knew cops always sat around that area.
In CT a black limited coupe pulled up behind me and wanted to race as well. We did a few pulls from 60 to 115. I stayed in 6th gear for most of them and still easily beat him. When I downshifted it wasn't even close lol. After the first pull he knew I had a v8 lol, he just wanted to see what it could do and I was happy to show off.
As you would expect the car is crazy powerful. The throttle is very responsive now, a lot better than the v6. I barely have to tap the gas and the car just takes off. I thought going the speed limit in the v6 was hard, this is a whole other animal lol. It has crazy acceleration, that just never seems to end. I've had it up to 140 a few times, and it seems like the car just wants to keep going. With the v6 you could tell around 130 or so that it was getting close to its limit but I haven't felt that on the v8 yet. Idk if I want to find out where that is either lol. First gear is next to useless, unless all you want to do is burn out the tires lol. Both my rear tires are bald though, so once I get new ones first might be usable with care lol. I usually start in second and you still have to go pretty easy on the gas or you'll break the tires loose. Once you get up to around 4500 or 5000 RPM you can tell the engine is starting to get a little chocked up, I think it is a combination of exhaust and the hot air intake I have right now. The engine bay gets really hot and my IATs are way to high to me. It has been in the 20s and 30s here lately and just cruising to work the IAT gets up to 115 within my 10 minute drive, with me not pushing it at all. If I really push the car, I've seen it hit 170, so CAI is defiantly next on the list. The engine actually runs colder than my v6 did. The v8 stays between 170 and 180 all the time, where my v6 was 190 to 210.
There are also a few issues as well, but these are really small and really is just me being nit picky. If I knew about these issues before the swap I defiantly still would have gone through with it. First is the tick, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems, just annoys me lol. Second is the engine sometimes will hunt for idle for about 30 seconds after coming to a stop. Not sure why it does this, but I found out that if you put it in neutral before the RPMs go below 1500 and give a quick blip to the throttle that it will almost never happen. Its really weird but since it is so easy to prevent I doubt I will even try to fix it. The last issue is that the car doesn't like to go slow. When in traffic if you try to just crawl along slowly the engine seems to have trouble even though it shouldn't. It starts to buck a little like its not getting enough gas. I think this can be tuned out, I just want to hook up my wideband first to do some logging to give to eurocharged.
Josh if you haven't yet, I'd recommend getting a tune. It really woke the engine up, gave a little better MPG and smoothed the idle a bit too. Since you have a CAI and less restrictive exhaust you will probably feel even more of a difference than me.

No problem, but if come back up to Londonderry again let me know.......Steve

I will be moving back to NH March 1st. I am not sure if anyone wants to have a meetup with how cold it has been but as long as it isn't snowing too bad I will be able to meetup on weekends or possibly after work during the week. I will be sending Frank a pm as well, maybe if we get a nice enough weekend we can get all the local Crossfires together.
