I have been looking to do a muffler delete since I bought the car and had a few questions. I know quite a few of you have already done this and hopefully you can help me out. I want to keep the stock tips, so I was wondering which Y-pipe works best for this (I believe it has to be a 2.5" pipe if I want to keep stock tips)? Also wondering how much I can expect it to cost once I get it done.

The exhaust pipes must be metric, very close though to 2 1/4. The large pipe from the resonator to muffler is around 2 3/4.

 

Would you loose any torque or HP for deleting just the muffler?

 

I don't think you would lose anything and probably not gain anything either. Just my opinion but I would think that changes made closer to the engine would have more effect on power than those made toward the back end.
