Always reminds me of a favorite song..

Not convinced that cold air intake really makes any HP on the N/A.

Ebay.. Dodge Durango. 3 1/2 OD. They typically want 50 bucks, but 1 seller has dropped to 30 with free shipping lately. Now how are you going to stuff that under the hood with the stock elbow and maf housing? I've got a needswing elbow with maf built in so I purchased the above, just haven't moved it up the to do list for installing.

The best bang for the buck is the larger Mercedes air box, the 74mm MAF housing and a tune. The DCAI is probably wasted on the NA, if you are making one it will just be for show really. If you are buying one it will be just for show and a lot of dough.

Yes exactly, I will be getting the Mercedes engine cover, and the 74 mm maf housing and tune as well. And will be making my own dcai pipes etc.. I was just wondering what else I would need in order to make it happen. I don't want to pay the 750 USA dollars for the dcai system, put that in Canadian and that would be 1200 bucks including shipping. I'm sure I can make one for way less than that. Specially since I have a cnc manufacturing shop...
Any insight as to what all the parts I would need would be a great help. Thanks

Magazine road tests of the 2004 Crossfire when it 1st came out put the automatic at 15.18sec. in the 1/4 mile, and 14.7 for the 6spd.
I think Garry ran a 14.7sec. in his automatic (with no other mods) using a single NeedsWings CAI.
Doesn't sound like much of an improvement, but in the 1/4 mile it is.
Lot's of people have built their own, but I don't think anybody has built a better mouse trap.

I like the look of the Mercedes engine cover and the dcai. And any gains would be welcome as well. It's something I can build myself as well so it shouldn't cost me a whole pile of cash. I just need to figure out what I need. If I can get my hands on a 74 mm maf and y pipe the rest will be a snap. Worst case I could build my own y pipe but why reinvent the wheel if I can find one at a reasonable price.

Without a base line before and after.. I can't put any worth in the "this is what I ran thanks to the mod".

My coupe and the wife's roadster both have the 74mm and tune upgrades.. and the "gasp" hot air intakes.
My 06 Roadster is the 68mm and by Eurocharge records.. is not tuned. Torque pro shows it within 2HP and torque of the modded cars. We all know if you line up 10 "identical" crossfires.. 1 is going to outrun the rest.
Just as my 06 is a factory "beast".. LOL.. Gary's may very well have been one of those "above the rest" ones.
Just my .02 on it.

1. Single NeedsWings CAI ($$$$ )
2. 74 mm throttle body ( pretty cheap )
3. Eurocharged tune. ( $$$$ )
4. run on an almost empty tank ( weight )
5. lose weight yourself.
6. carbon fiber hood ( $$$$ )
7. NOX ( if you know what you are doing, otherwise get a spare engine first before going this route )
8 carbon fiber wheels ( $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ )
