Default TPS Issue? HELP!

Love my Crossfire but when things go wrong better have a second job if you take it to dealer or gold bars stashed somewhere.

The issue I am having for the past two weeks is with the car at idel. It will rev between 500 and 3000 RPMs which is embarrassing in traffic. Everyone thinks you want to race or a complete tool, lol

And when driving I can take foot off the throttle and the car will basically drive itself for short periods at 3000 RPMs then let up then go right back up.

The funny thing is that this started two weeks ago. Then magically corrected itself and now is starting to do it all over again.

I was wondering if someone else has had this issue and if it might be related the TPS?

Sounds like either TPS or the throttle pedal assembly.
You can clean the TPS with electronic contact cleaner, but you will have to remove the throttle body and pop the plastic cover off.
If you are going to do this, get a replacement throttle body O ring, they are seldom reusable.
I do not believe you can clean the throttle pedal potentiometer, you will have to replace that.

My Graphite did this twice in five years. Both times, I was headed down hill on GA 180 (Georgia's Dragon) and had just started the car up after it sat for a few minutes. I found that turning the key off and re-starting the car cleared it.

I never figured out why it did it and why it was those exact circumstances that led to it.

I would also try the vac leak testing before tearing into the TB and/or pedal.

Have you done a throttle reset? If not give it a try and see if that helps it.

Looking at this guys record I think we may not hear from him for a couple of years, forget him and move on.
From experience I can say that before you bother to answer a query, have a look at their past posts if they do not seem familiar to you.
