Borla Tips
This is probably my last post here in this forum,. I am going to go completely to the other forum.
I will post over there, but it looks exactly like the set up Redcross got. I ordered directly from Borla in November of 04, before the recent price increase. I did not go through mopar supercenter, so I don't know what they are shipping out, if it is even Borla or not. I like the sound from the Borla, it is not too loud or too soft. It gives a nice edge to the car. It does not sound empty or boomy at all. Sounds like a stronger 6 cylinder. It is not a hard package to install as long as you have a lift. Performance wise, I don't believe it added a whole lot, whatsoever. It is more of a sound package than a good power additon. You have to remember that Denver is the Mile High City, so the car is straining to get a good breath of air anyways. The Borla may work better at lower altitude, I don't know as I haven't had the car back in California since I made the conversion. I have said it many times before, the K&N filters were one of the best inexpensive add ons to the car. The performance change was noticeable immediately as the car simply breathed better. Good luck to you and my rgds to all.

Since Borla factory is 1 mile or so from me and a friend works there, this is the inside info...
"We haven't been able to come up with a REAL different Tip design yet and to KEEP cost down we don't plan to unless sales increase dramatically!"

Personally, I think the stock tips look better than the borla (though i'd like to see some more actual pictures before i decide). That is unusual, usually aftermarket always looks better.
Would it be possible to take your stock exhaust to a muffler shop and do some welding and fitting and put you stock exhaust tips on the Borla system thus keeping the clean original look to the car?

Yes it is possible to do that. Borla rep said, that they went with the rounds to keep profits up (didn't know how many they might sell). Hence, the mopar parts deal.
The Borla tips are very nice looking... They are round... but ever so slightly oval... If you look at them closely you can just barely see the oval in them. Its nearly undetectable at a distance.
