Default Mass air flow sensor problem

So I recently changed my mass air flow sensor because my check engine light was on. Changed the sensor and cleared the code then the check engine light came back on and the problem doesn’t seemed to be fixed. The problem is when I come to a complete stop it will shake and make sounds like it wants to die , sputters I guess. Any help ? Would greatly appreciate it.

When was the last time you changed your air filters? What code was thrown that made you change the MAF sensor? Have you checked the rubber at the filter housing to the throttle body?

I’ve had this car for about a year I don’t think the air filters have been changed. I took it to autozone and they scanned it and said it was the MAF sensor.

Run back by AutoZone an have them check it again. This time write down the codes they give you. That will help us ,help you. How many miles on the car? Air filters should be changed every 15k. And who changed the sensor? You are not suppose to touch them with you fingers.

It’s at a shop now, waiting for a call back. Miles are about 108,000. My boyfriend changed the sensor and I told him about not touching it

The guy said he had to put in or re arrange the boot? The light is off for now. The guy said he doesn’t really know if it’ll come back on or not. So I really don’t know at this point. Drove fine the way home but not sure about tomorrow .

ensure that the valve cover hoses are not old/brittle/cracked as that would cause your issue and point to the MAF incorrectly.
