Default Highest HP NA?

Anyone who has done a decent amount of mods to the NA crossfire dynoed it? If not does anyone know the numbers for gains of stuff such as a needs wing intake? What are the gains from the dual compared to a single intake for the NA?

Thanks for any info!

Going from a single CAI to a DCAI on a NA will gain you nothing , other than a Aesthetically pleasing engine compartment...IMHO..

Agreed, It doesn't increase air flow. At least not by itself.

A larger Throttle body and some exhaust mods will help put more volume through the cylinders. A good dyno Tune will maximize the effects of those improvements. Arguably it may be possible to achieve 265-275 HP or more but the limits of physics put the top gains possible to well under 300HP. And for the money invested in all that plumbing and tunes,,,;, one might as well trade up to an SRT, if available.

The highest reported hp at the wheels was 195 approximately so your figures show a very high loss through the drive train. The 195 is probably too high anyway.
Exhaust has shown little hp gains, you mention a good cold air inlet like the NeedsWings SCI.

About 3 yrs ago I had a Eurocharged tune done on my NA 6speed. I was suprised at how low the hp was on the car. After 7 pulls on the dyno we ended up at 199hp at the rear wheels. I can really feel the power difference. I have to be careful going through the gears. all of the limiters were lifted and I can go way past the redline, if I am not careful.

What (if any) mods have you done to your engine?
I have seen people talking about a few parts scavenged off of other MB engines to free up more ponies, as well as things like the needswings cai... But it seems very few people have actually PROVIDED PROOF of their supposed hp gains.

over at mbworld they have this thread from about 100 years ago.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...n-process.html
a little tidbit caught my eye
"430/500 M113 Fuel Injectors: PN: A1130780249; These injectors are rated at 19 lbs/hr and are a great upgrade for a bolt on car. When coupled with the above bolt on intake mods and an aggressive tune, you can see anywhere from 260-275 HP at the crank. All the while maintaining OEM reliability, very good MPG, and low emissions."

if I could get 275hp at the crank with an intake injectors and a tune I might wear a hole in the front of my pants with the constant erection... but the more I read the more it sounds to good to be true.

No mods were done to the car before the Eurocharged tune. The car is extremely quick off the line (suprised me and everyone else). I get to 6200rpm's very fast. I have to keep my eye on the tach. The BMW's I get by aboout a full car length eventually catch and pass me in 3rd gear. No one seems to know why it is so quick in 1st and 2nd gear. But, I'm not complaining!

I had an NA snd first gear sucks big time, if I tried to get going quickly I found the car bouncing of the limiter too soon. I think an automatic will beat you all the time, gear changes slow you down. If you decide to slam it into each gear you will pay for it later.
The BMWs were giving an old geezer a head start. 😊

The BMW's are always 3 series. I know which ones to stay away from. Like your NA though 1st gear was useless. Reminded me of compound low, in my first pickup. It was great for getting up steep driveways. I was shocked the first time it didn't bounce. I still have to make quick shifts into 2nd, but its at 6200 to 6500 rpm's and I'm moving pretty good. I have surprised several people on the track at Willow-Springs.

It's odd not many people will try to race me when I am driving this car. I have a flat 500 and way more people try to launch off the line at lights when I'm in that car but it's rare that anyone tries to race me in my xf.

It's funny to because these na xf's are not exactly the fastest car around. We would get our asses handed to us by most Subaru's, BMW m3 and above any v8 pony car (mustang, challenger charger, Camaro etc) even Mazdas if they aren't bone stock.

Honestly I am quite disappointed to find that there is very little that can be done to give this car more HP (inb4 "Durr hurr shoulda bought the ess arr tee!!")

how much hp did the eurocharged tune actually give you ?

was it 199hp at the rear wheels before or after the tune?

The gain was after the tune. I did a total of 7 pulls, all in 5th gear. The pulls before the tune maxed out at 188.6hp at 5220rpm after that it dropped to 150hp at higher rpm.
The Eurocharged pulls similar until 5220rpm. As the rpm climbed the hp kept going up. At 5857rpm it reached 199hp (131mph). it didn.t start dropping until 6437rpm and 141mph.
I'm looking at the charts and graphs from the dyno. The Dyno was was done at JBA Racing on a Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer.

Can you scan the dyno chart and put it on here? I have saved other NA dyno charts I can put on here. It will be a record of what is possible.
The 200 hp you have is the about the same as the max shown by others.

I don't have a scanner anymore. I don't even have a printer anymore. I'm looking at another brother laser printer. The brother's are the best printers I have had in the past.

Just another "old fart" that's interested in geogramps dyno chart. wbarth123, sorry to crash your thread. Although mines a stock SRT6, I am curious of any archived dyno pulls on this car as well. Ideally, a couple of pulls stock, before any mods, then pulls with those mods that truly give you bang for the buck. Ideally no internal mods. Onehundred80, hopefully you will chime in with your insight.

Thanks!

Regards,
