Those pictures are the examples of any types of oil catch cans with the close loop option.. When I'll get the eBay item I'll decide what to do next.
Found another pretty cheap an exact copy of Racer X (retail is $179) ready to use on eBay for $29 baffled https://www.ebay.com/itm/OSIAS-Fabri...53.m2749.l2649

RacerX baffle design vs eBay copy. Almost the same.

I'll start to play with my new Xfire on Jan.8 in Jax, FL where she is located. Oil catch can will be my first mod and maybe the last LOL.
BTW I don't like the manual shifter **** so I decided to replace it. I have two variations.
First, I bought a used stock shifter **** and boot set for pretty cheap on eBay, Removed chrome and painted with Dupli-Color gun metal acrylic enamel 2 in 1 (paint +primer). Very good paint for plastic and resin.

And second type - original stock leather boot , M12x1.25 adapter and real carbon fiber ball shaped ****. Looks fantastic.

Already saw it on eBay. Thanks. I like it. Looks like a quality product and made in Germany. Those are the mass production but I want something unique , made by my bare hands
Someday I'll get it just for the **** collection .
This one is the best but isn't black or red.

Possible area of the oil catch can installation. That's is not my car, just I've placed a random online picture of the engine compartment.

Look, I'm not trying to choose sides but...….if buying the best was the only option this would be a Lamborghini forum not a Chrysler Crossfire forum. I have and continue to spend money with vendors who bend over backwards to help us Crossfire owners. I trust them to sell us quality parts. However I think there are some things that can be done on a tighter budget. The car was engineered to "burn up" the extra gunk anyway. My car has 75000 miles on it running without one so why should I even consider one now......because all the cool kids have one that's why. I know people use them and yes they do trap junk so one can say yes I need one. If it doesn't work then I'm sure he will let us know.
Tom My 1976 Ranger had excessive pvc blow by bad enough that oil would drip out of the air filter housing. I made a catch can out of a large HI-C can and a couple layers of paint booth fiberglass filter material. It worked well except that driving on the interstate the pressure would over whelm the system I made. I made a 1/2 copper pipe exhaust for the system, run it out to the back bumper and switched back and forth depending on where I was going. I was young and poor at the time.

I just recently installed a similar one on my Kia under the premise that if it don't help, it won't hurt. I used a coarse bronze/brass? scrubber called Choir Boy instead of steel wool. Only been in for two weeks so too early to tell if it helps, however several guys on the Kia Soul forum have put them on and shown the gunk collected over a period of time.

Nice. Good idea. But it's too small and you need to drain catch can more often. Also you probably have to take off an engine cover.
In my case I just need to put small container under the catch can and turn the ball valve to drain .

I was lucky. The price tag has been changed from $29 to $59. Probably the seller is a member of this forum

There is room to unscrew the cup from the top without taking off the engine cover . I took the picture with the engine cover off for a better view. Whatever anyone comes up with that works and enjoys doing the modification and the satisfaction of doing it. That's what counts
