Default Unknown part- clicking noise?

Hi all. Started up the crossfire today and noticed a clicking noise coming from this part shown in pic. I don't know what the name of this part is or what it does. It seems to be a solenoid of some kind ( that's my guess). I don't think it is affecting my car. Should I be worried? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Drivers side. On top of the wheel well. Wiring harness is on top with tube attached.

It is part off the pollution control system. How often does it click?

It clicks once every two seconds and lasts about 30 seconds. It goes away for a minute and then comes back and does it again. After I take the car for a ride it seems like there is no ticking present

Should I look into this noise or should I just be aware that this is normal? Does your cars make this clicking noise under the hood?

That's the purge solenoid for the Evap system, if you dont have a DTC set for the evap system, it's fine.

I do not think lt is fine, a solenoid clicking away like that will fry itself in short order.
There is a diagram in the Service Manual in the pollution section.
It directs gas fumes into the throttle body.

I did not READ his post. I missed the "every two seconds" part. So I do agree, Dave.

But I don't think it's the solenoid that is causing this, the ECU is commanding the solenoid to trigger like that - why?
