Default Engine Restart After a Stall

I've been driving stick shifts for many years but every so often I get the clutch pedal and throttle out of sync and stall the engine. I can't simply turn the switch to the START position and restart (yes, the clutch pedal is fully depressed) but must turn the switch to the full OFF position, then to RUN until the fuel pump primes and then to START before it will restart. Is this normal operation or is there a problem?

As far as I recall that was the normal procedure with my manual Crossfire.

Normal, it's part of the routine in the ECU that cuts the starter out at 400 rpm, they make the function "latching", I do not know why, it irritates me as well.
