Default Help P0715 code

Has anyone replaced the N2 or N3 speed sensors inside the automatic transmission?
Also will a leaking multi pin connector to the transmission cause the P0715 code
thanks

The N2 and N3 speed sensors are in the conductor plate. If the harness to conductor plate adapter has blown o rings it could cause a malfunction in the signals to the PCM. A corroded connection or damaged wire can cause a malfunction as well. Here is the Mercedes information on the 722.6.

IF the transmission connector is leaking, and the fluid wicks up into the TCM, you'd better correct that before it (the transmission fluid) makes it to the TCM. Too many TCM's have been ruined by this leaking connector wicking transmission fluid into the TCM. I believe your TCM is located under the center console. Good luck!

Hi machfivecrossfire thanks for the help
my coupe is a 6 speed it is my friends 05 that has the issue. I’m assuming the conductor plate you refer to is part of the electro hydraulic
unit inside the transmission. Do you know if any club member had changed out the N2 N3 sensors??
Cheers

They are part of the conductor plate if I remember correctly. If they are the issue then a new conductor plate will need to be installed. I have a new in box plate. I will check it tomorrow to make sure that they are already attached. I have changed out 2 of them. I am sure other members have also. There was a thread in here a week or two ago about that. If you check the search functio you will probably find a thread or three in here about conductor plates and how to replace them. In that PDF it shows the plate and explains where the sensors are as opposed to the other shift solenoids. while you are there check the o rings and make sure the screen type filters are clear of debris. It also explains how they are supposed to work. If the TCM is faulty you will find it under the passenger side floor. I believe it is attached to, and under a metal plate. If you find water / oil damage there, then that could also be the problem. Before replacing the plate I would check the TCM for water / oil damage and the wiring from that to the trans adapter for corrosion or damaged wires. But if it is leaking where the wires go into the trans then that needs to be fixed. I purchased the service kit from fcpeuro. Its pricey but comes with everything. You can find it cheaper elsewhere. Here is the link to fcp for a visual reference of the parts involved.

Hi MachfiveCrossfire
Again thanks for you Help
My friend with the 05 automatic has changed out the transmission fluid and the code P0715
has not returned , so he is just going to wait and see ( he mentioned that he most likely will sell his Crossfire as it is to quite complex and expensive to repair.
Cheers and have a great day
