RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND A GUY TRIED TO MAKE A QUICK LANE CHANGE RIGHT INTO MY RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL. HAVEN'T BEEN UNDER TO SEE WHAT DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE BUT THE TIRE AND RIM ARE LEANING IN. DOESN'T LOOK THAT BAD FROM PIC BUT ISN'T DRIVEABLE. I'M SURE THE AXLE IS BENT AND THE RIM DESTROYED. GOTTA WAIT AND SEE WHAT HIS INSURANCE COMPANY IS GOING TO SAY. THEY ONLY PAY WHEN THEY ARE MADE TO PAY!
BUMMER !
You'll need to get under it to determine the damage. The rear carrier frame is installed with four long bolts thru rubber mounts and look carefully where the sway bar attaches.
If the damage is limited to the axle, suspension arms, rim and a little body work it will be a minor fix.
Insurance, forgetaboutit, they will probably total the car (IMHO). I believe the drivetrain is 100% MB, so the parts are there, the body, where it attaches to the frame, zip439 is right on! Good luck!
