Default Interest in dual exhaust

I just had a dual exhaust fabricated for my car consisting of 2.5" pipe all the way from the manifolds back to a dual in/out muffler and 4.5" round tips. I'll have pics posted in the next couple of days.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing a prefabricated system that would consist of the same thing? If you would what would you like to pay?

I'd like to see full pics, specs, and sound clips first. Is it SS and mandrel bends?

OK, I will have pics and video up if I figure out how to put them up. It is full Stainless Steel and all mandrel bent. It sounds amazing at idle or full throttle and the car actually pulls to redline now. I want to do some valve train work to get passed that 6k borderline.

So how do you post that stuff?

Well, not from me of course. The piping is made from the T-416? stainless steel (the borla stuff) so it is guaranteed from rust. The welds are very solid so I am assuming they are backed too. i would think the only thing that wouldn't be covered would be off-roading and scraping it on the ground. Right now it sits about as low as the stock exhaust and actually a little higher where the muffler is. I have to bring it back in either this week or next to adjust it because it think its hitting the differential or something. It was fine when I got it, but now it rattles a little under certain acceleration. The guys I'm working with are more than happy to check it out for me, and if there is enough interest I will approach them with the idea to mass produce. By the way you can check them out at Acostamotorsports.com.

I may be wrong and correct me if I am. Two pipes going into one muffler? I wouldn't think that qualifies as a true dual exhaust.

Also, paint the hanger in the middle black. IMO as is, it looks pretty cheap and does nothing for the rear end.

Yea its a dual in dual out muffler. They are two separate sides that are straight through, its like having two mufflers welded together. We had the two separate mufflers up there, but I didn't like the way it looked so we found this option. It's true dual...Believe me I questioned that too when they suggested this for a more stock look, and I said the same thing. "What's the point of two pipes in one muffler?" But they showed me the muffler and it you can see straight through both sides. I also questioned about an X-pipe or H-pipe and was told that it was not necessary because the tips are so close together that the sound is already equalized.

I don't know if I know what you want me to paint. The muffler or that silver lining around it? Or something completely different? The better it looks the happier I am.

OK unless they can guarantee it for fitment and wields I wouldn't pay more than $350 shipped or $300+ shipping. Only because you can get the borla from MPSC Price for $576.40 Any more than that I would just get something done local incase things didn't line up.

I can guarantee that it will be more than $300. The materials alone cost about $900 so I'm thinking it might be around there. The piping was $450, muffler $150, and 2 tips at $180 each. With a bulk order the cost may be reduced, but not down to $300.

I would give a sound clip but the video i have doesn't do it justice, and I don't know how to post it.

About the tip... I made a mistake they are $157.00 a piece.

Link to tip: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=747

The muffler was $185.00. Makes a little more sense now.

what was the difference in performance after the exhaust mod, can you relate to how

it feels with WOT... that is my question; you know tell me what you think about the

power of the car now that you got a mod exhaust... hooah

The new exhaust looks good!

You said it pulls to redline now...bet you lost some low end torque!

Not to rain on your parade but for $900+ dollars I would have sent the ECU to Renntech and had the ECU reprogrammed. You would have gained 300+ rpms, extended the speed limiter and gained some hp/tq for about what you paid.

If looks and sound were what you were going for than it looks great...enjoy!

$900? Sorry to be the one to inform you but you were bent over without even a reach around. For $900 you got what maybe 36" of 2.5" tubing, a muffler, a couple of tips and some welding. That and your shop is apparently about the looks & sound, not performance. An X-pipe is a better choice vs. and H-pipe, they are correct that it would do no good in the section of piping they added it would need to be closer to the engine. An X-pipe is for balancing the exhaust pulses more important than the sound is the additional scavenging and power it produces.

Lastly Magnaflo makes ok but not great mufflers.

While you deserve props for going unique you would have been much better served getting the Borla exhaust.
