Hi mate, I'm Suffolk based so not local to you. Regards the Oil Filter, genuine Chrysler/Mercedes ones come up on Ebay now and again or you can get them from either a Chrysler dealer or a Mercedes dealer.

I'm waiting for some mild weather so I can service mine. Looks like I'll be waiting a long time at this rate.

Would it be a recommendation to go for the oem oil filter? I looked up Costco but you need to be a member to be able to purchase from them! Shame when they sell 8 litre for the price of 4.5 at Halfords.

I'm not sure how the OEM one differs from an aftermarket item such as K&N etc, but the OEM ones are easy to come by. Many owners on here recommend the OEM fleece filter and it would be my personal preference to stick with OEM. No other reason than that, just a personal preference.

You can even get the original Chrysler tool to remove the oil filter housing lid on Ebay.

Do i need the tool to remove the oil filter housing? It looks like it just screws on in the manual.

No, you don't need the tool, the housing does unscrew but you will probably need a strap wrench to loosen it off.

Having the tool just makes the job easier.
