Default Don't want holes in my bumper!

I'm wondering if anyone has tried making a bracket to hold the front license plate, without drilling holes!

I'm going to explore using two metal brackets that will mount through the existing holes in the lower grill, perhaps with large washers and rubber bushings.

Anyone?

That's easy. Move to Arizona. We don't have front plates.

Seriously, however, your question has been discussed several times on this forum over the past three years. Do a search and see what you can find. I don't know if there is an easy solution, but I suspect there may be some creative suggestions on this board. Good luck.

I have a vanity plate on my Mustang. It's held in place by heavy duty Velcro that I buy from Radio Shack. I've only been able to find it there.

Here's a link:

I also use it on the gas filler cap door on my P/U. It's been on the Mustang for eight years and on the P/U for 20 years.

this prior post may help you out... (check out all of page 1 via former NXMX5 )

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...+plate+bracket

i personally run without one... no holes for me (but required in my state)... it just kills the clean look of the front end.
its worth the risk & ticket (but 10 years w/o one so far... knock knock).

I did the same thing as "former NXMX5" only instead of two bolts, I used one larger one with a slightly less makeshift bracket.

Check my gallery.

the best pic of the bracket is on the picture where the bolt locations are called out. good luck.

I live in NY and we have front plates. I think its the stupidest law. When I bought my Crossfire, I also didn't want the dealership to deface the front bumper with a license plate bracket. I told them I would buy the car if they didn't install the bracket. To this day, I do not run a front plate. Have had no problems...the cops are too busy trying to figure out what kind of car it is and don't even notice the plate.

I have noticed a few Porsches and some new Solstices without front plates too...maybe NY will do away with another law that makes no sense...yeah, right...I'm not holding my breathe either.
