the kit comes with xenon bulbs, ballast, relay etc...

you will need to order the "H7" kit. i would recommend the 6,000k.

ebay link (under $300)...

installed in my car...here are the pics of where i mounted the hid hardware (you must have a flat surface). the relays are mounted using existing posts...i added a nut to secure relay. extra wire ties keep things nice and tightie (lots of extra wire).

Andrew,
How's it going?
Was good to meet you out at carlisle.
Would you buy the 6,000k again?
I am trying to decide between 5,000, 6,000, 8,000.
I rarely use my high beams as being in the city there are not too many opportunities to do so, darn traffic.
Basically are you happy with the 6,000 single kit?
If you did it again would you change anything?
Do you feel it is worth doing the fog lamps too?
Thanks for any info.

i actually have the 8k kit (very blue in color). if i could do it over i would select the 6k kit... but regardless of bulb color selection... the lighting in unbelievable in comparison to oem... this is a must have upgrade imo. i haven't even had one issue or problem with this kit. flawless.

i would only do the low beams... i did change the bulbs in my fogs to match the color of the hids...

if you wait a year (my lease return)... i will sell you my kit... for $150.

Just to make sure, is this the kit I need?
Does this seem like a fair price?

Disagree. Noticeably brighter than the bulbs that came in my 2004.

Looks right.

And the fogs would be:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/McCUL...temZ8043503016

Considering a set of H7 HID bulbs is $150 alone, the price seems reasonable. I've seen more expensive kits, and besides, if Andrew likes the McCulloch kit it must be decent!

Thanks. I hate returning stuff when I get it wrong.
Ordered the H7 kit. I'll think about the fog lamps.

Got my parts today. I'm going to install after work tomorrow if I have time.
I'll post a review.

~ my prediction... you will see the light.

be prepared for night & day results... the factory lighting is so poor in comparison.

I jumped on the bandwagon yesterday too. I ordered my 6,000k kit, which should hopefully be in next week sometime. Stryfox, which color temp did you order?

I got the 6,000k kit.
Wow I am amazed at the difference.
I installed them today took me 1 hour.
I was in shock when I turned them on.
Much brighter than I assumed.
I have clear side markers and it made the bulbs look horribly yellow!
I went straight to the auto parts store to get some white LEDs 194 bulbs
194 bulbs for the little one in the corner of the headlamp housing too.
I will post some pics when I get a chance.
Here is the question?
The fog lamps look funny now, I don't really want to spend the $$$ on an HID kit for them, can anyone recommend what bulbs match closely match the color of the 6,000k headlamps?

re: fog lamps: I bought a set of the PIAA 4,000K lamps for the fogs. I just installed them last night so I haven't been able to play with them yet, but it's foggy this morning in Richmond so I guess I'll be forced to use them. I'll give you a comparison photo once I get the HID kit installed...

hey andrew do you have your igniter and ballast mounted to the frame on the passenger side? I don't see any screws? if not, would it be bad idea to drill small holes in the frames and then put some sheet metal screws into it to mount?

Andrew, I found these on e-bay. Would you recommend this set for the Xfire?

~ i used the supplied double sided tape... just clean the surface with rubbing alcohol first for good adhesion.

the tape holds great. this is the route to go imo.

drilling into metal = future rust imo.
