Default Ribbed Hood

Any reason anyone can think of why we couldn't fill the ribbing on the front hood? Has anyone done it? I think it would be very sexy.

Filling in the ribs would disturb the aerodynamic channeling, causing the air to deviate around the car instead of over it, thereby keeping the spoiler from deploying, which in turn would cause the computer to limit the top speed to 80 mph.

I wouldn't do it.

I think they're called "Hood Strakes". "Ribs" would protrude, wouldn't they?
I'm sure you could fill em in, but then your Crossfire would look less like the new Sebring.

FP...You're to much LOL and so are you Danimal.

I think I speak for a few of us when I ask the question" Why did you buy a Crossfire" ? You don't like the "ribs", and you can't stand the cupholder. Just curious.

I wouldn't do it.
In other words, the hood looks better with the strakes.

XFiringInNC asked:
Any reason why we couldn't fill in the ribbing on the hood?

I answered:
I'm sure you could fill em in.

Question asked and answered.
Funny...I thought I was making relevant response.

And if that isn't good enough for ya (former NXMX5) I'm even willing to wager that somebody has already done it.

I am guessing that you were joking. But if not... I will have the pork ribs with a side of corn and potatoes. Oh and a cupholder to go!! Thanks.

IMO - If you filled the hood 'ribbing,' it would just like any other hood - and less sexy.

My goodness, you're right! Why does anyone debadge or add new wheels or replace or chrome the grill or add HID headlights, either!? Why would they change anything!? They should just go buy different cars, right? Gah! Why didn't I think about that myself? Customizing anything on cars is for weenies who don't know that they can just go buy exactly the car they really really want right off the shelf! Pfff. Man, I can't believe I was so stupid.

Thank you sooo much for setting me right. I'm taking my Crossfire BACK to the dealership and I'm going to tell them about this enlightening moment, and ask them to find whatever car it is that is just like a Crossfire except it has no lines on the hood and has a really kickas* cupholder. THAT will SO be the car for me. Man, I can't WAIT to see it!
