Default fog lights vs. high beam

can they be turned on at the same time without rewiring? when my high beams come on, my fog lights go off. i saw a couple of pics of crossfires on here with them all on, which is why i'm asking.

I believe that it is against the law in most states to have more than 4 driving lights on at once, hence the low/high beams or low/fog combinations. But I'm sure that they can be wired to all light at once with a relay of some sort. Probably a show car, or off road item. As a matter of fact, you can probably find your answer from an off-road jeepster with one of those massive light bars that light up the whole desert.

Not sure about the rewiring.
However, all 3 of my vehicles are the same way - high beams on, fog lights off.

High beams are pretty bad in fog. It is better to run low beams and a fog light in fog.

Default Why would you want both?

Conditions permitting use of high beams would make the fogs useless. And vice-versa. Most cars on the road misuse their fogs anyhow IMHO. They're usually aimed badly and on during the day to simply look cool. (seems like it's Gran Prix drivers a lot of time, for some reason).

I will most likely not use mine.

I think the Grand Prix lights turn on automatically when you turn the car on.

That explains why they're on, but why are they all aimed into my eyes?

Having a fog light on, which provides a lot of light immediately in the foreground, causes your eyes to adjust in such away that reduces the distance you can see at night.

High beams provide light that's meant to illuminate things at a distance... if you're eyes are adjusted due to a lot of light in the foreground, you can't see things at a distance... not safe for driving at speed.
