yea i'll get my girl friend to help. she's into the picture thing to take some. it looks just like they painted the car with these pieces on "gapping" the seam and now the paint over this crack is flaking off the whole length of the roof.

I have the same issue where the whole strip is crazed and bubbling with giants flakes coming off in parts.

I just bought my car as inventory reduction, no repaint... dealer took photos and sent to Chrysler to have covered under warranty.

What color is yours 6412? Mine's black...

I just got mine back from the dealer, for the same thing, no questions asked. Mine is black.

What do you mean, "No questions asked?" Did they repair it under warranty? Mine has a little flaking as well.

Yeh, it was done under warranty. I had the driver side roof molding replaced, the window adjusted for wind noise, the trans checked for it popping out of 1st, and the headlights checked for condensation, which they polished. But anyway, they did it all under warranty with no problem.

Definitely another dealer - I just took mine in yesterday, dealer covered it no questions asked at all. In fact, they said they have seen the issue before - if your dealer needs help, have them call Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge body shop in Jacksonville, FL and they can tell them how to do it.

My dealer just took photos, sent it to Chrysler, and ordered the part once they got confirmation from Chrysler that it was covered. Chrysler even covered the shipping tape residue on an interior panel that the dealer didn't think would be covered!

my dealer **** BOURNIVAL in york maine has been giving me every excuse in the book to not cover it under warrenty i tried to go through foss motors in exeter NH but they told me that warrenty issues had to be dealt with the selling dealer ? I have also been to a few other dealers in the southern NH area and have pretty much had the same thing told to me.

Chrysler covered mine under warranty which means Chrysler is willing to cover it. The dealer should be asking Chrysler if it is covered since it is Chrysler's decision - and since Chrysler covers it any Chrysler dealer is able to do the warranty work.

A friend of mine was looking at a Black SRT6 a couple of weeks ago that had paint flaking off the narrow strip on the roof near the tops of the doors. The dealer said it was covered under warrenty. The car had less than 100 miles on it and didn't appear to ever have been in an accident.

Mine is an '05 and had 59 miles when I bought it in October '07. It's black and the paint was flaking off both sides. The dealership manager gave me grief about fixing it under warranty....don't know why??? But then he fixed it anyaway. I think their body shop just fixed it and didn't issue a warranty claim. I don't get it, but they repainted both rails.

My dealership actually ordered new rails and painted them, under warranty no less - not sure why some dealerships give such grief about it...
