Installed: Rieger Side Skirts
Hey X-Fire heads. Just recently, I had a pair of Rieger side skirts installed on the Crossfire. They were originally made for the SLK 170, but with some cutting and welding, my body shop was able to install them. You can check out the results by clicking on the images below (BTW, I didn't take the pics at the most ideal location, so I hope you all don't mind the somewhat drab background ^^).
[Edit: I have also posted additional pics (including custom front lips) as well ~ please check Page 2 of this thread]

Very nice indeed.
You said you had to do some cutting and welding. Can you explain what exactly was done? Aren't they just a "plastic" replacement for the standard rocker panel? I assume the mounting holes were in a different location, but did you have to alter the length?
Are they "taller" (lower) than the stock panel? It looks like you have less clearance now.

The side skirts are ALOT lower than the standard OEM panels. Since my car is already lowered with Eibach Pro's, this implies only one thing : DRIVE REALLY CAREFULLY ON INCLINES, RAMPS, SPEED BUMPS, THE WHOLE WORKS.
Due to its lower side clearance, I had to install custom front and rear lips to match the overall lower line of the vehicle (they are not pictured ~ I will post new pics as soon as possible).
In short, if you can manage to find a trustworthy bodyshop to handle the side skirts, I highly recommend them to all members. It definitely gives the X-Fire an upgraded "DTM" look.

Really appreciate your compliments guys.
The next pics are hot off of my camera. Custom Hamann-style front lips have been installed in order to accommodate for the lowered side skirts.
I was worried that it may look a bit ricer-ish, but I think the end product is more "Euro" than "Ricer"... fortunately for me. ^^
Enjoy.

That IMO is one of the best and cleanest body mods that any one on the forum has done to date ! Keep up the good work, and if you can let the rest of use know what parts you used and were to get them.

The most important thing is to find a reputable bodyshop that will take the time and effort to make sure the piece fits correctly on to our beloved X-Fires.
As for the front lip, an aero parts maker here in Korea was able to make a mold that fit the SRT-6 bumper, basing it off the Hamann front lip made for an E39 M5. Not sure if they are willing to sell these products overseas but I will make sure to find out. The price for the front lips were $300, UNPAINTED. Hope this helps...

The vented side skirts are not bad either! (Not sure about fitment though)...

Looks amazing really like it a lot but how are you going to get the car in the air on a lift? It looks like it covers the jack points...

All car-related work must now be done on a hydraulic lift at my regular
tuner's garage. Even that is tedious work since they have to make sure the
lift platform doesn't "crush" the side skirts by carefully placing spacers in the
appropriate points underneath the car.
I figure its a small price to pay considering the end product!

I have to admit though... some of them are pretty damn fast...
