Default Painted Grill - Aero Blue Pearl

Decided to pop the trim peices, sand the texture off and paint the grill to match the car. Also shaved the side scoops to improve airflow into the CAI system.

What tubing are you using to come out from the engine compartment.

Thanks FP! I'm using 3" silicone pipe from:
Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts
To get a cleaner pass through, I actually notched the pipe to fit around the radiator. I probably pick up a little unwanted heat by doing this but I hope the added flow more than compensates for this.

This is connected to an MB air box from TVT. Air box will be back from paint next week and I'll post more pics then.

Looks great! Well done. Did you remove the silver accent or tape over it when you painted the grill?

Your setup is similar to mine. I also have the large MB box. I'm just having difficulty getting tubing out past the radiator wall.

Looking forward to your pics.

I did remove the trim. I wanted the texture removed from the grill surfaces and its been my experience that you will get "bleed by" with tape alone. The trim has tabs that run through the grill and are heat staked in place - 7 tabs on the lower (2), 9 on the upper trim since its longer. I used a Dremel to just barely cut through the stake marks. This leaves enough of the tab for remounting; pop them back on after paint, and apply 3M 2 part epoxy for plastic to each of the tabs.
