Default SRT remove wing and put on a N/A wing, possible?

I am about to buy a SRT6, but I am not in favour of the rear wing. I think it is cooler with the N/A wing that pops up when going above 60mph/h. Would it be a possibility to remove the rear wing on the SRT, and somehow make it work with a N/A wing?

/ Phil

First off, are you looking at a coupe or roadster? There is a fair share of wiring but it's definitely not impossible. I can walk you through the wiring aspects if you do decide to do it. If you're looking at a roadster, I'm calling dibs on the wing and have one for trade if you want it.

Take care

Yes, it is possible, and has been done before, but I just can't understand why anyone would buy an SRT and try to make it look like an NA.

When I first thought of buying and SRT, this was exactly what I was going to do but I was chastised so much about even thinking about it, I left it on. I've since grown accustomed to it and don't know what it would be like without one. If I had a coupe though, I'd still be all over getting rid of the wing. Just my 2¢

It is going to be a coupe.
Well, let's just say I am not in favour of the wing. I got yelled at last time when I stated the reasons in more detail. So I better be careful this time

I have a white N/A today with original SRT6 emblems. The only one in whole Sweden. I have been looking for solutions how I can tune my N/A to go as fast as the SRT6. exchange engines, put in a supercharger from kleeman, amg, startech, brabus etc. but the cheapest way to go forward seem to be to buy a srt from FL where we have an apartment so I can check the motor out and so forth, take off the rear wing, give it to someone who can give me their N/A wing. And then repaint it into WHITE and then transport it to Sweden.

Is it worth the hassle to get a car that runs 1.5 seconds faster 0-60?
What is the difference in fuel consumption?

Well, the whole point of owning a car that is different than the norm is the satisfaction that it brings you as the owner. If an NA wing does it for you, then do not worry about what anyone else thinks. As there are 70,000+ NA's and only 2,944 SRTs, I like the fact that the wing instantly distinguishes it from the pack. But, that is just me. Please do not take my comment in a derogatory way.

I like the fact that each person has their own personal view on the XF. It is impossible to make it ugly. Wing or no wing. I just uploaded some pics of my autos if you are interested in looking at them.

he hunt for the SRT6 is on. !

Nice looking ride. Alabaster is definitely my favorite color on the Coupes. Good luck with the car search.

There are better ways to distinguish yourself from the pack.

70,000+ n/a's, 2,944 SRT's, 4 V8 Crossfires

Actually the cheapest way to make a n/a go fast is probably the V8 conversion.

As far as the wing goes. I think each looks good and anyone should do whatever they like. without the wing the car looks more like a classic sports car, with the wing it looks more modern and fast. Both are great looks.

Okay,

V8 conversion = change the engine.. re-register to the MOT, insurance, warranty issues, must be a hustle.
cost? get hold of the engine? all the other SRT abilities such as suspension etc,.
hmm naw, better buy a SRT,. Just put out an search add on the forum.

Anything I should check especially when buying the SRT?
what is the fuel consumption difference?

Forgot you are in Sweden and the MOT stuff

I did the conversion for less than $3K and had no issues with inspection or insurance. With SRT get a Carfax. Besides the obvious visual stuff, check it for any leaks, and make sure everything works.

Less thank $3K? Hmm that is a real great tune-up what is the the true 0-60 mph on the V8? Beat a SRT?
But than again, I am no mechanic and I do not have the time to make a conversion myself. Better stay with the SRT plan.

BTW, the SRT6s (if you are able to find any) are sold at $40k+ in Sweden :P and that is the coupe.
So for me being able to get the SRT6 from the states, drive it for a while etc. and then selling it still to make a great earning.

If you see any please let me know.

i too think the N/A wing is nicer. When i was at the track once an older dude was talking to his child as he was passing my car and said "the cars wing deploys at a certain speed".... i was like uhhh no i wish.
