Default An easy mod.. gone terribly wrong..

If you want to brighten your day, keep reading...

Sooo Kolme decided that he should take a break from studying for the MCAT and go put on his new 194 LED parking lights... Heck, only takes maybe 15minutes.... Driver side goes in like a charm... Passenger side.... goes into the light assembly...

Yes thats right... I dropped the bulb in the assembly.. I can tell you right now, that trying to use a coat hanger and super glue to get it out.. will not work... thats what i tried for the first 30 minutes...

Soo I decide oh, heck, ill just remove the headlight, cant be too hard...

Let me say right now... that someone who seriously hates life designed these damn things... Who the heck puts a holding screw directly under the lamp and surrounds it with a ton of other crap... It was a damn maze!!!!! The other screw was atleast level with the side lamp..

After researching here, I went out and gave it a shot.. Only to realize the 1 tool i needed, a 10mm, was the only tool i didnt have in a total of 3 toolboxes... What i did find was a strange ~~10mm dime thick tool that I think came with something from ikea.. after bending it 90degrees, i removed all the screws..

I thought to myself "Woohoo! its done!!!".... NO. NO IT WAS NOT.... >.> The darn fascia was blocking it... sigh... i came back researched more.. and started to undo the fascia.... the same person who designed the headlight did the fascia too because it was RIDICULOUS.... In a flurry of thought, i decided to remove the front fascia screw and... the assembly popped out... %!@$!!! OK! w/e least its out!....

After playing "jiggle the headlight" i got the light out and got it set correctly... Nowww to reinstall all this hell... so after aligning, re aligning, re re re aligning the light... I screwed it in, with tons of difficulty using the "tool" i basically found in a drawer... and was DONE!...

15 minutes enjoyable job... turned into a 3hr job FROM HELL.

Kolme

well just be thankful the bulb worked Murphy's law of automotive repair: That which is connected by 2 bolts is always behind something connected by 10

MCAT?

Are you (shudder!) planning on becoming a surgeon? If you think that was tough-the human body may give you problems...

That one 10mm bolt is in the open if you would have removed the grille (four screws).

I've found once you have taken the headlight out once, it's not too hard to do again.... but I do agree the first time was a huge PITA

Then for God's sake-stay away from Orthopedics!
There is all sorts of hardware involved.
I know-from experience!

Just kidding-best of luck.
