Filter lights for K&N's / 'Slasher' Stripes
Hi all,
Posting some (poor quality) pictures taken from my iPhone (It's really hard to get quality pics of the filter lights since it has to be dark outside to see them).
Filter lights are 9 LED wedge bulbs seated in a wedge socket base (both purchased from superbrightleds.com), point outward, and are wired to an independent switch that I placed inside the cabin right behind the knee bolster on the driver's side. Since the bulbs point outward and not forward, they offer a subtle glow (which is not very noticeable while the headlights are on). Haven't had any trouble with the law with them.
'Slasher' stripes (I don't know what else to call them) are done in Plasti-dip, sprayed right over the paint. If you're familiar with Plasti-dip, you know that with enough coats it will peel right off. What you see in the pics are just temporary, and will be peeled off when I clay bar my car this weekend. (You can see in one of the pictures the edge is not perfect because the plasti-dip stuck to the tape when I peeled it, oh well )
Pretty sure they sell decals in this shape, but the plasti-dip was a good way for me to get an idea of what the decals would look like.
