I don't put badges on customer cars. What they do with them is their deal. You'll notice though that I don't have any AMG badges on my car.

LOL

I'll be in the SRT, Nick is coming in the '55 with the slippery Hankooks, and Steve is bringing the 996.

Kim is bringing her Dramamine to stay happy by the time we reach Hellbender

Regarding the fears of "posing" I still stand by this.

The limited folks run the "powered by Mercedes-Benz" badges all the time with no scorn. There is no "powered by AMG" badge. But the "3.2 AMG" badge looks cleaner than the "V6 Kompressor" paragraph (which is also technically accurate).

And as is often said in the MB-World thread, "no engine, no badge".

The SRT-6 is clearly, without a doubt, powered by AMG. The badge is not calling the car anything it isn't.

you did swap out the old SRT6 manifolds for the AMG manifolds on your 4 wheeler tho and I thought that was the correct move

off topic: did you have that 62mm pulley on your car when you let me ride along back in Palatine?

I love the for sale thread on MB World where you mention no debadging/rebadging for fear of ending up in the poser thread, Molly and I both had a good chuckle

Nice looking badges, John, very sublte and classy. Now where is everyone putting them?

Personally I'd love to remove the fender strakes, shave/repaint the holes, and mount the badge dead-center of the recessed area (like on the C63) for a much cleaner look.

But that's a ton-o-work for a $60 badge.

I'll be putting mine where the 2006 SRT had its fender emblems... that's also where MB puts them on most 2006+ vehicles. Can't imagine it would look good on the rear deck, but that call is left up to everyone else. That's the beauty of doing as you wish with your own ride.

The poser thread is an interesting one. In there, you will find financially over-extended folks with $1,000 car payments giving other folks a hard time for trying to appear to be something they're not.

Makes one wonder...

I have been talking about doing that for the last three years, but doing just that, talking.

One day it will lose its door handles and side strakes and have a V8, but that day is not in the forseeable future. I did take the frist step last night tho, we bought a third car so the XF can be a garage queen

Sorry for the mini-thread jack...

Weird, I never knew Saab and Subaru collaborated on that car. I always thought the Saab 9-turbos were based on the GM line. I know the older CTS parts bin was raided on the 9-3 turbo sedan...

UPDATE!

Badges are complete, and ready to ship. I asked about payment/ordering method, below is the response:

I'm considering using UPS for international orders as USPS doesn't really give you a concrete tracking number with updates.
Original thread to follow along and see pics is located in the first post in this thread... Last page has photos of the finished product. Came out EXTREMELY well IMO...

Chances are if you wanted one, and didn't make the initial list, you can still get some as he made some extras.

Cheers,
