Easy at home fixes
So these two fixes I've come across over the past year and I thought I would share them. My wife told me that she read you can use toothpaste to get the oxidation off of headlights. I used a tube of crest that had baking soda and peroxide in it and with a little bit of buffing the stuff came off almost instantly!
Another fix, my friend gave me this HID kit he bought that he couldn't get working, as I examined the ballasts, the input and output sockets were covered in rust. So I used a bottle of coke and soaked them overnight. The next day one of them was working, the other ballast still has a lot of rust so I'm going to let it soak a little more. So if you look on craigslist and find a broken set you might be able to fix them. Also might be something worth inspecting if your HID kits ever fail. Especially if you live in a place that has rather salty air.
Anyways, just wanted to share.

On the HID's.. they would have to be basically giving them away to make it worthwhile since you can get a warranty and new Xentec system for around 30 bucks.
Just saying..

True, just something to look into if you have a kit go out on you.
Probably expensive and most likely take a while to get.
I Waxoyl my electrical spade connections, No corrosion ever. I use it on leather seats and fabric top. Stay new forever. I polish plastic lens with paint rubbing compound.
