CAI for SRT6
Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I have an SRT6 and was wondering if there were still some CAI out there for around 300 or less. The only ones I have seen lastly are from needs wings. And they seen a bit pricey. I will have to admit they do look nice though. Thanks in advance for you time and effort.

Otherwise I can only recommend the NW dcai. It is a real piece of art.
Hope to see you in the who is who gallery and check out the vin# survey and check the VIN# list here to see if it has been added.
Hope you enjoy the car!

Why bother with anything other than an needswings, It is the only one that gives you horsepower, and gas mileage, and not Only good looks But great looks. Never mind the cost once, you get it you'll never look back jim
Ok so I have made up my mind and have decided on the needs wing CAI but I’m going with the single not the double. I can’t justify the extra money for roughly the same gains I would get out of the single.
I do have some questions. Has anyone experienced any issues with the intake while under heavy or moderate rain conditions?
If so what issues and how was it remedied? Thanks again for all your input.

I live in Puerto Rico and have driven in hurricane induced downpours with no problem. As a matter of fact .... I'm spraying water into the intakes while racing to cool the engine a little. It would take submerging the filter in a puddle to get enough water to hurt something. Well, as long as you keep the filter properly oiled which is easy and infrequent and don't have a brain doner moment. Anyone out there hydro locked a SRT-6? I haven't heard of a single one stock or modded.

This is great
I have the needswings intake and it is a premium aftermarket part for a great deal. Excellent instructions, fits perfect, no customization, can be put back to stock in no time, etc...

Thanks for all the feed back. The reason I asked is I previously own a mazdaspeed3 and I sucked up a good amount of water through the CAI when the car next to me hit a puddle. There was no really damaged done but it spit, sputtered, and bucked violently until all the water was out.
(driving a car into a creek ) that's funny right there.

Bad Day in Nashville, TN.
Seems everytime drive my Crossie thru Nashville I have a catastrophe.
Last year Spring Dragon running late for Sharko and His fiancees wedding we went thru during a tornado. Drove thru foot deep puddles and found a copper pipe in one which I picked up without even stopping. put it right thru my left rear tire. Then, I stopped.
Fixed it with a plug first try.
Got lucky on that one.
This time I went thru a heavy rainstorm in Fort Campbell KY and drove all the way to Nashville with no problems. However, I apparently stored enough water in the CAI to slurp up the following morning and hydro lock the engine.
Bad, very bad.
The roadster with a stick is driving a Ford fusion now.
Yuck!
without a roadster with a stick
BTW, I love Nashville but if I have to go there again, I'm taking the jeep ,,,,,,or Crumpy's SRT.

If you're really worried about rain and such get a filter like this for the peace of mind. I live in Guam where it rains everyday and I haven't had any issues with the stock set up in my N/A.
Does anyone have a contact number for Rob at needs wings. I have been trying to send him an email to get an update on my order, but I keep getting email failure notifications. Thank you in advance.
Anyone who uses their Crossfire to cross a stream instead of a bridge deserves what they get.
I have not heard of a hydro locked Crossfire here anyway.

This guy ended up in 2 feet of water, so I guess that would do it.

we carry some water resistant filter covers for those that want an extra piece of mind for water shedding. they are called the dycharger covers and are on the intake page.
