Default Plasti dip fun!

I bought four cans of plasti dip from home depot for 6 dollars a piece. i really like how the wheels, strakes and handles came out. everything else seems a bit much but it was fun. I may do the whole car just to see how it looks. This is with about 3 or 4 coats. It removes really easily, neat stuff. if you remove the tape lines after a few really quick coates, you can make quite a crisp line. if you wait more than 20 minuts, the tape will pull the dip a bit. Nice job! I did a dip design on my rims and love it. I was considering the large stripe down the center just like you did and the 4th pic is making me want to even more lol. It looks pretty good! The only thing i'm not too fond of is the center of the emblems being dipped. Otherwise I like it! You should check out the dipyourcar.com forums if you haven't already.

Is it just the photo or is the surface blotchy?

I am about to do my DD in full plasti and have access to a paint booth and professional sprayer so I am asking everyone what they used...

In this picture, I have a minimum of 3 coats in some areas, such as the hood and roof. It takes about 5 coats to look smooth, with spray cans lol. I have the whole car looking good now. Will get another picture if it ever stops raining....the sprayer would make the job a lot faster and likely better results

Decided to take the black off and try something else...the black was done with 11 cans of spray. The coat was not thick enough to simply peel off like you see with the dips done with the spray. Had to use a spray remover then powerwash to take it off, but it came off nicely.

I ended up getting the package from DipyourCar, 3 gallons of Koi Orange and the sprayer. I used just about all three gallons and it took about 4 hours. I did the black with spray cans the day before and then taped them off when I did the orange. Also, debadged the old lady. Only downside...Having to explain what kind of car it is and how I did it at red lights lol

I think I like it. Not sure why. It looks like a toy car the kids would step on in the family room.

I mean that is a good way.

I'm not foolin' or teasing.
Trust me. I'm a guy who put red electrical tape on my Crossie for racing stripes. It's been there since 2010.

I know, Right? First thing I thought was, "It looks like a matchbox car..." lol I am not personally invested in it, my wife really wanted me to do it. Its a fund half-day project. We are going to try the Chameleon dip in a few months.

I wonder, does that stuff come in silver,or aluminum or even Stainless steel? It might be a good cover onthe rocker panels and skirts.

Great!
So when the rock chips cover the lowers I can paint from the electrician's tape down and cover it all 'til the rust finally wins.

Saweet!
