I have had 35w xentec hid's in my highs and lows for a little over a year now. I just got a set in to do my foglights too. They are on the cheaper side, and its worth noting that the high beams take time to warm up initially (5-8 seconds maybe, but this is any hid light) before they are at full power. I had some problems with bad bulbs / ballasts originally but the Guy I deal with replaced them for free and really quickly, no problems since and I run them in my bike too.

Skip the cheap ebay swill and go with a better tested set. You'll pay a little more but you get what you pay for. One set everyone raves about are the H7: Morimoto Elite HID System. Check them out here:

I'd go here actually..

H7 is your bulb size.. I'm running the 6000k .. they have a slight blue tint.. the 5000k will put you closer to white..

My issue with the cheaper ones were that I couldn't get them to focus right, and the ballasts never held up, more expensive ones worked better for me after a slight screw adjustment , but I may be biased since I own a lighting company lol

Totally agree. I had the same problem with a cheaper setup. Lamps shot off center no matter how i adjusted or seated them. Went with the Morimotos because of the metal & ceramic base made for a true aim, plus the bulbs are shorter in filament length then the cheap sets, which makes the Morimotos almost match the length of the OEM bulbs. Difference is like night and day. Much brighter and more focused beam means the shorter length bulbs are using the reflector housing more efficiently. 5 year warranty just sweetens the deal.

I was a true eBay HID user up until I was too curious and purchased the Morimoto H7 HID kit 4300k. Man, these things are 1000x better than any eBay i've had (4300k, 5000k, 6000k, i've had them all).

I would spring for it.

I will give them a "thumbs up" for bringing the price down. Might even spring for the bulbs @ $40 if my ebays ever go out..

You might want to get a canbus compatible set, I still recommend the Morimoto's, but I do realize they are on the high end price-wise.
These look pretty good :

55W H7 6000K 8000K 10000K Canbus HID Low Beam Kit Mercedez Benz SLK 1998 2008 | eBay

2 Digital Super HID Ballasts (3" x 2.5" x 0.5")

These don't throw a canbus error. "Myself" decided since 35 watt is OEM that's where I'd stay. Not that I've heard anyone with adverse effects from the 55w kits.

these cars dont throw errors for the 35w , they dont need the extra cash for the canbus sets, and 55 might even be a bit much , the 35w i run are beautiful!
