Oh well I see this have been taken cared off. I wonder if you would have done the same if ec or nw would have brought your attention to a particular custom product that they may be start selling through their channel. They intention was to help Karl to get in touch with the community. But as this is initially Karls custom product I will let him be in charge. But let say like this, I will not be pointing any new products here in this matter again to get a feel if anyone likes it and want to do a groupbuy. Shame as we have quite a few goodies now when srt-6 black series is to be released. Not in it for the cash but again, do not think this would have happened for Rob or Jerry. But no hard feelings as it is all for a good cause, make everyone like their SRT-6. Hope you all get the grille you want.

Hello FUBU . . . Someone seems to have the facts a bit twisted. Karl E (who is based in the UK) was not trying to get in touch with the community and had no ambition to sell any of these grilles to anyone. He simply had one of these grilles made for himself and installed it on his personal Crossfire. He posted some photos on his Facebook page. You brought this item to the attention of the "community" by starting this thread and posting some of Karl's photos on this forum as well as on your SRT-6.com website.

I was one of the early posters to this thread who indicated that I conditionally wanted to buy one of these grilles. As I wasn't seeing any movement here (if I was impatient I apologize to you), I contacted Karl directly through his Facebook page asking if he would point me toward the manufacturer. Copies of all my communications are posted right here so my motivations and the history of movement are completely transparent. I have no intention of making any money on this venture (and I didn't think that was your motivation either). If the manufacturer of Karl's "one off" grille is willing and able to reproduce more of them, I simply want to secure one for myself and along the way wanted to present that same opportunity to other interested Crossfire owners.

Thank you for bringing this grille to my attention and an even bigger THANK YOU for "no hard feelings as it is all for a good cause, make everyone like their SRT-6. Hope you all get the grille you want."

Hi Bud (reddog),

I have Karl on facebook and before him leaving for a trip we discussed this matter of bringing this out to the community and he wanted me to check forums and my channels to see we could setup a groupbuy and feel the interest and use srt-6.com as a channel. So there you go. I posted on srt-6 facebook (www. srt - 6 . com) page, forum, crossfire fb page.

I only release products I have the direct contact with the custom manufacturer. In this case it was Karls contacts and I was just doing more of a favour. So you going around me like that is normally bad play in my books but in this case no worries. I could care less about the product (I do not want it) and as I am not interested in this for the money I just feel at ease that you are arranging everything. I hope you get your groupbuy going well and everyone will be satisfied.

But as said, do not think this would have happend with Rob nor Jerry. There you would probably would have asked.

Feel free to post a pic on the srt-6.com or the facebook.com/streetracingtechnology/ so i can see the end result

I am not offering to make them but you can get an idea what it would look like with a center spine in it to match the rib on the car.
That is exactly what I was talking about. This I like, not in black for my car but it looks good. I hope you don't mind but I may have to do my own, it won't be a direct copy, rest assured but yours will be my inspiration.

Feel free to copy.
I used a 1/4 thick piece of plate steel to make the rib area shape. The aftermarket grille is 1/4 thick. Then to add depth I made the raised rib out of sheet metal and welded it together.
Dresses and painted it.
The hardest part in my opinion was tweaking the aftermarket grill to fit nice.
I was going to make one from scratch but I bought a used one off a forum member to start with which saved me time and money.
I'll look for some in process pics if it helps you make one.

I changed both my cars out. I don't know that I love them, but I like them better than stock. Good luck with this project...it is hard to please everyone...

I am working with a buddy who owns a metal working shop to do mine, we started with the same one as you, took the mesh off, grinded down the outside lip to less than half the original thickness and have massaged it to fit perfectly, and much more recessed than originally, gives great depth to the area. I also painted the area flat black for more of a pop. I am selecting what I want for the center this winter and we will finish it up and paint it. Hopefully pictures in the spring...

That sounds like a good idea, looking forward to seeing it. I was thinking of using some mesh grill material with a smaller mesh, the better to screen the critters, cutting the shape, then using a flat strip of aluminum around the outside for strength. Adding a center rib with some contour and , of coarse, painting or powder coating it to compliment my car[SSB].

am I the only one that doesn't mind the stock grill? definitely prefer it over the mesh look.. though I think the key is to color match it so the gray plastic doesn't stand out anymore

I color matched mine to the graphite metallic on the car when I got it, but have never liked the grille that is nearly identical to the sebring or minivan Chrysler was pushing at the time. Just sayin'

This thread is causing me to change my mind, some people would say that there's not much to change LOL I was looking at crafting my own but through this thread and a couple of car shows, I've come to the conclusion that there are just about as many custom grills as stock. My grill at present is painted to match the windshield surround but not polished, to make it appear as if it were cast.

That's a different approach, well done

When I was looking to by my Crossfire there was a halfway decent 05 Limited coupe at a dealership, it had a grille like this, I didn't even bother to consider looking at that car any further.
You've already said your piece in your first post, at this point all you're doing is goading people into a response which IMO is pretty childish. You don't like it, fantastic, duly noted.

The aftermarket grills need a crease in the center or something to indicate the center of the grill. As is it looks as if they were designed for another car and transplanted.
If you look at any of my posts of my car you'll see I already have a solution to that. Trust me, when I'm done with this grill it will look like it belongs on the car.
