Progress, and these were done last night. Tonight I'm replacing them with dual stage strips lol.

Adrian,

I saw these on facebook. You commented on my new front eyelids post. Which strips did you use? Did you end up wiring them just to the hot lead of the lights? or to the brake lights?

Thanks, Paul

Nicely done. I've been a big fan of Radiantz for a long time. I have them on my Goldwing and used a clear set in the footwells on my black coupe. I have no affiliation with them but they state they are made in the U.S. (Oregon I think) and are backed by a lifetime warranty. Home
Did you end up pigtailing off the wiring before it enters into the light assembly?

So to clear some things up with this, I ended up swapping those LED bars with another better set from Alpena. These new ones are in the same location, and are red colored too instead of black like the old ones. They are red in LED color as well, and can function for brakes, running lights, and turn signals.

Currently wired only the running/brake functions for them because I need to find another constant current source for the turns on the passenger side. I left that for another time lol.

I wired them into the actual wire harness housing, and just placed them within the pinholes of the correct wire lead. They work nicely, and video is on FB of them running.

Corrected the issues I had with their output being even on both sides. They look awesome now

I agree that really brings the back end into the 21 century. I really like them but are unsure if they would be aloud over here in the UK. Good job though!!

They should be allowed, they don't do anything illegal to the car, and provide more light behind you to warn people when you brake. That's all

I would be able to do it no problem Gary, just name a time and I'll swing by to get them done. Order Alpena 77228 from AutoZone, because they have it on clearance for 19$, while Amazon still has them at 40$.

It also involves a great deal of sitting in the trunk, so I think you'll appreciate not having to do that part lol

Nah, you'll just have to get creative with reaching into the area of the tail lights lol. Mind you, I predict some backpain for you hahah

Would it not be possible to get 3 or 4 more LEDs in the strip to cover that blank area on the inside and maybe one more to the outside ?
And it sure would be sweet if they would sweep sequentially inside to outside when the turn signal is on .......

I'd think about trying it if those 2 things could be accomplished .

That covered corner is the waterproof controller for the strip. Can't have it without that part unfortunately. And they do strobe from inside to outside when used for turn signals. I just have to figure out a second constant power line on the passenger side unit. Other than that, just ask Gary, they look great in person. At night they are actually fairly bright too.

Can you do a write up as to how to do it and where to get the parts and what to use. I have had a look here in the UK and we are limited on things like that.
